Mesa Boogie 1x12 Thiele, 1989, equipped with a speakerphone ElectroVoice EVM12L can collect up to 200 watts into 8 ohms. There is also an output Parallel Out so you can connect a second speaker, always 8 ohms. Despite his age, mine is in perfect condition.

This small 1x12 cabinet is very heavy (15 kg)! This is due to ElectroVoice speaker weighs just over 8kgs. The construction is obvious strength and quality. I owned an Orange PPC112 with a Celestion Vintage 30 and the Mesa is clearly in the upper range.

Level, the Thiele is amazing transparency. The sound is ultra-balanced, nothing protrudes. Bass / mid / treble, everything is at the same level, it is quite surprising! The richness of the bass content to bury a lot of 2x12 and even a 4x12.
In terms of distribution, regardless of where one stands in front of him, the sound is always audible. The Thiele sends its surprisingly broad way!
200 W eligible you will connect with a lot of different amp heads, whatever their power. Side of the coin, the Thiele request to be pushed to show all his qualities because I find it a little fuzz at very low volume.
All styles fit him, from jazz to metal. The sounds of my three amps (Marshall JCM 800 2203 Orange Tiny Terror and VHT / Fryette Pitbull CLX) are magnified.

I wanted a 1x12 very good for rehearsals and other café-concert. I think I have found the gem. Despite the high price, it is in my opinion one of the best 1x12 ever built. I do not know the new Thiele equipped with Celestion C90 specially developed for Mesa Boogie but it in Electrovoice is simply a killer. A heavy weight in the range of 1x12 cabinets!

Despite this, I still advise you to try before you buy because it is possible that neutrality does not suit you and you rabattiez a product equipped with a speaker sound more colorful.

- What is so special that you like most and least?

HUGE sound given its small size. It's completely bluffing!
The reality of the musician every day mean that this feature is sometimes capital: Small car trunk, endless stairs to enter a confined space of 15m square occupied largely by a battery as discreet as Moby Dick, in short, all those little details that make the use of a 4x12 a little freestyle! But these concerns are finally resolved through the small bomb that shuddered decidedly not in sometimes extreme conditions. Its power rating of 300W in 8ohms can safely use a 100w head into a corner.
Also note that it is also an extension of choice for a small combo of a small 40taine watts. Indeed, I have long linked the box to my subway Rocket the same brand, and the mix of 1x8 1x12 closed to open or even interesting combo proved formidable in the studio to mix two different but complementary grain.

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?

Yes and I just tend not to appreciate the fact of feeling that I did not deal with a 4x12 full of good bass good "groumpf" that tickle the calves; o)
But the system "Bass reflex" developed within the cabinet of the small mesa makes perfect illusion and Comforte me still in the pleasant feeling of having made no concessions on the sound while in practice, the use this little box is simply easier to live.

- How would you rate the quality / price?

Without wishing to cast a stone mesa products that I love more in general ... a little expensive for several reasons that most know (import Ect ...): o /

Yes but, hesitating a long time with a 1x12 or a 2x12 VHT, Probably ...

When you think of Mesa Boogie you think of rugged no holds barred killer sounding and constructed amplifiers and cabinets. Mesa has built a reputation of being the industry standard of heavy duty guitar related products. This little cab may be small, but it falls right in line with the rest of the Mesa Boogie bully amp family.

I think Mesa Boogie is a bunch of bullies in the sense that there products are so dense and durable that you use them to survive an atom bomb. The will outlast most of the humans on earth, that is how well build there products are built.

This cab is the exact same dimensions, tone and features as the black standard thiele. However, this one is a sharp looking bare woof and wicker grill front. You get a beautifully exposed wood case and top it off with a classy wicker front. These hardwood cabs and amps are unique to Mesa Boogie and have a class all their own. Some will say that the bare wood exposed will have a different tone than a cabinet that that is covered in tolex. I think they are crazy because leaving wood exposed will cause no sound change what so ever, and especially in a cabinet this small.

This little small 1x12 cab is a rugged determined little beats of a cab. These cabs have so many great uses to them. You can use them as single cabs for an amp or you can use them for a wet/ dry setup that has been so popular over the last few years by many guitarists.

The tone of this speaker in opinion sells the theme that Mesa has been sporting for many years. Sure their Celestion V30's are probably the most popular speaker that they use since so many guitar players resort to them, but the Celestion C90 are fit for the king. These speakers have a character to them that screams rock and roll. The have a punch to them that other speaker only wish they could hit. You have a perfectly voiced speaker to go along with many of the perfectly voiced amplifiers.

This is my personally favorite speaker that marries many the Mesa Boogie amplifiers. I especially like them hen used with a Mark series amp from Mwsa Boogie. I find that the voicing sensitivity of this speaker brings out the best sonic frequencies to the amps.

At new you can pick these cabinet up for about $440. Not tha bad of a price but not cheap either for a cab this small. However, I can tell you that this is many guitar players go to cab for the wet dry setup.

It is a bass reflex cabinet closed back (but closed the rear with a wind front) with a Celestion C90 (12 "- 8 Ohm - 90 watt).

I have a jack between the rear, models the latest issue in it 2.
The mine is not exactly like the picture (logo mesa and fabric protection are those of the old models).

I use it for 2 years with a JCM900 and a tlcaster. I play on the clean channel with gain at max (the sound does not crunch when I attack).

Before I had a Marshall 1960A cabinet. It was very boring because very large and difficult to transport. Moreover, with Marshall cabinet I found my sound mushy and not very specific on.
Since I changed my 1960A for this cabinet:
- I have a specific on her and well balanced with serious Defines.
- It hears better RPTE. So I can play softer and safeguarding; our ears.
- On record is a revolution, I no longer need qualiser my guitar to make it out of the mix.

In short, this speaker since I found my sound and I love my amp head.
