«  Rare in this config! »

Japan.

Mine was a luthier defrettée Lyon, with three or four at the time, at the request of the seller who likes to have exclusive stuff. Besides this advantage, I think for the price and size, it sounds really good.

The pre-amp is simple and very good, so the three bands semi-parametric medium, can bypass the equalize, bass boost, and volume output.

In place of the frets, I have small clear lines, the luthier who punched with a hardwood.

UTILIZATION

Everything is impeccable, my only regret is to have a sum pre-amp of the older generation, without tuner. Otherwise, nothing to say, jazz, pop on amp or DI, is impeccable.

Su stage it is good to plug the hole in the soundboard. It is well balanced.

At home, no need to amp, even if friends come with their guitar. Outdoors, or with electric instruments or drums, this is another story: it is necessary to add an amp.

However, be careful not to put a rope pulling too hard, we quickly limit the truss rod.

SOUNDS

I climb with ropes threaded flat as a I hate the sound of bronze strings on acoustic bass, and secondly, it will damage the key too.

I left with a kind bass, and all the "boouuuiiinnns" that go with it. The top. studios and love jazz.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had a dozen years, it was worth € 800 and 1000 with semi-flexible cover. It ages very well.

I tried a lot of style, and I've tried others since (including a Larrivée) and I also had an Ovation that I ended up selling (sounded good but was too unbalanced with light and its body his big stick). Nothing found for both, actually. Or should switch to another price range.

If it were possible to change the pre-amp for a current, without modification, then I think I would consider this purchase seriously. I would take the time one day to find out.

In fact the only other acoustic fretless bass series that I considered but is really expensive, it is also a Takamine. Anyway, when I would not have to buy it ;-)
