« Big bodied guitar with a bit too crisp and quiet tone. »

I bought this guitar in 2004 so it's been in my rig for two decades.

I've played guitar since early 70s more or less professional, I've had quite many acoustic guitars
but this Ibanez is a bit surprising acquaintance among my past and present guitar friends.

It is wonderful to play, neck is straight and fully adjustable, intonation is fine, it keeps tuning well and it is great looking with all its neck inlays and gold colour tuners.
Preamp is a bit noisy but does its job well. Battery box made some rattling noise but that was cured with piece of tape.
But IMO the acoustic sound has some problems
I wouldn't recommend any other strings than "silk and steel"- type round sounding strings, otherwise the sound is
quite crispy and thin and boosted in high mid - high area.
Sustain is a bit shorter than in my other Ibanez from 80s.
The lower frequencies are too subtle for my taste anyways and in studio it's a bit hard to record a full/warm sounding track with this guitar, it's like there is a hidden EQ cutting the lows no matter which mic is used.

But that being said, I've no intentions to mock up this guitar, I've played many wonderful gigs with it and it is
really fun to play, almost like an low action electric guitar.
