Made in Canada, Made in Canada is notified on the beautiful plate of the Quantum II. According to manufacturer data, the model is assembled by a luthier Lamain.
I believe as the result is beautiful!

UTILIZATION

It's a Canadian, we feel at the grip. The woods are beautiful! It has a solid feel, but it is also very light (and yet entirely in solid wood - table, sides, bottom). The handle is very nice, it was immediately at ease as if it has always played, but the handle is flatter el broader than my Martin OOO-1 on which I used to play.
In this cutaway model, the pan is cut so access is excellent acute even for me who have small fingers.
The head is fine, the logo is great Artist as the symbol for 12 ° case. The finish is superb for me, great art.
I am surprised by the width of the box. Behind the table is slightly convex. A white edging around the sides.
I tried first without plugging in acoustics. It is very balanced, it is less aggressive, "returned in" as Martin, but really it sounds! The bass is deep (more than the martin), the sound is rather soft, not loud or shrill media runny (you know who I think, 4 letters starts with C and it ends with T), we is in the presence of a noble guitar. I play an hour without even thinking about plugging.

SOUNDS

Well now, I plug in my studio monitors (Yamaha NSP) very linear, no effect (the sound is completely flat)
Then there is the shock! The sound is simply fabulous, a real warm sound, no frequency do another food is simply magnificent. A real electro acoustic, with a purity indisputable.

Some technical explanations on the Quantum II system:

Quote: The system EPM Quantum II acoustic guitar Godin offers a sound reproduction and outstanding performance. The Quantum II is a hybrid system that combines a sensor nut of the most sensitive electret microphone and a first class in a configuration very simple but very effective. The microphone capsule, specifically designed for our needs, installed after a 6-inch flexible shaft integrated with electronic components mounted on the splint. Four rotary switches are used to adjust the presence / phase of the micro, the overall volume and bass & treble sensor nut. Electronic Components and adjustments are presented for ease of use and are embellished with a finely crafted pewter cover plate.
The signals of the microphone can be added and mixed in or out of phase to those of the sensor nut. Thus the user can remove (or mitigate) potentially undesirable frequencies while accentuating others. This flexibility in matching signals results in one of the richest sounding and clear.

Source hybrid sensor nut and electret microphone
Rotary switches for volume control, presence / phase of the microphone and bass & treble sensor nut
Sound of a rich and exceptional clarity
Tin worked by hand
Shielded metal enclosure
The data above are those of the Godin. As a musician, I can only commend the Canadian brand for its innovations in acoustics and sound processing. The result is incredible purity, clarity and warmth.
The preamp on the body is beautiful, not an ordinary plastic gache often the general shape of the guitar. Also very simple to use: A knob to adjust the signals from the microphones, a bass, a treble and volume.

OVERALL OPINION

She remains in a fairly high price category in France (between 1200 and 1350 euros new). The brand is distibuée by Musico Saico.
I always preferred the acoustic to electro because of décélage between the two sounds. But then, I am more than charmed by this model. Both the preamp sound really is the height of the violin and aesthetics.
We are in the presence of a great guitar just waiting to grow old for further improvement. It has everything: beauty, beauty, softness, warmth, quality and substance of wood, beautifully finished, an instrument that should delight many demanding musician. Try it, and even better to buy if you plan to equip an acoustic electric.
