This is a version of the EAR-2 Compact60 clad wood. Mine is I think Pine (light wood). There is a darker version (rosewood I think). It provides a channel with jack, gain, bass, mid, high, contour (it changes color) and adjust the input level (microphone active or passive). The second channel has an input jack mixed XLR (with phantom power), gain, bass treble, input level. In the overall volume, tuning and selection of the effect (more reverb and chorus), balance (to the effect between the two channels). Behind: output emulation hp jack and XLR output tuner and effects loop. Too bad there is not an exit hp for a satellite to increase circulation. Otherwise, it is 60 w and has a transistor technology and an 8-hp dual cone.
UTILIZATION
It's simple to use, the English manual is not essential.

The amp is very true: it depends on the instrument that he branch. But I've never seen anyone criticize the sound of this amp.
The push to release the XLR is hard to handle.
SOUNDS
I use it to amplify acoustic guitars (Martin 000C16, GC31C Yamaha, Aria MM20), through different microphones. I also use it for jazz with a Gretsch 6120, a Gibson ES335 and a Les Paul). The sound is sumptuous. It works great if only one standpipe for the well-distributed. People are often surprised by the sound that comes out of this little box. Even at high volume, it does not saturate. The power is really exploitable.
It seems that the wooden chest slightly modified the sound, I know the standard EAR, I have not seen any difference. But the wood version is so much more beautiful.
OVERALL OPINION
I've had a year and a half. At first I had problems with the reverb module. Two passages in SAV, a rant and all is well. The strength of this amp lies both in its very loyal and works with all nylon strings that metal, which in its extreme portability. It weighs less than 10 kg bag and delivered for transportation is well designed. I also like its discretion. When you do classical, we do not like coming on stage with a three body as a rocker. We seek the most discreet device that amplifies by being forgotten.
It is expensive, but I have not found anything better at this price. By far. For cons, I would try Acoustic Image that look very good too.
