Genelec unveiled last weekend two new nearfield studio monitors as well as a subwoofer for small home studios.

The 8320A and 8330A two-way monitors and the 7350A subwoofer are all compact and powered models. They are equipped with AES/EBU digital and RJ45 network connections, the latter allows for remote control of the monitors from the latest version of the Genelec Loudspeaker Management software (GLM 2.0).

All monitors feature MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure, made of recycled aluminum) and DCW (Directivity Control Waveguide) technologies as well as the Genelec SAM (Smart Active Technology) that optimizes and automatically aligns each monitor (relative levels, time, phase, room response).

The 8320A two-way monitor is equipped with a 4” woofer and a 0.75” metal dome tweeter, as well as a 2×50W bi-amp. Frequency response ranges from 55Hz to 23kHz (-6dB) and le max SPL is 100dB. You’ll find on the back of the enclosure an XLR analog input and RJ45 port.

The 8830A includes a 5” woofer, a 0.75” tweeter and a 2×50W bi-amplifier. Its frequency response is 45Hz – 23kHz (-6dB) and max SPL is 104dB. Connections on this model comprise one XLR analog input, two XLR AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs and two RJ45 ports.

Last, the 7350A subwoofer is an 8” model with a built-in 150W amplifier and you can choose between 11 XLR analog inputs and outputs, 2 XLR AES/EBU digital inputs/outputs and 2 RJ45 network connections. Frequency response of this subwoofer is 22Hz – 120Hz and max SPL is 104dB.
