I wanted to speaker monitors of a fairly good quality because I had Altec Lansing Expressionist plus 2.1 with sound card with a fast track pro and I've never been disappointed! Treble and midrange pass very well but the bass is not really there, and bass boost does nothing apart from saturate the sound! For monitoring speakers I would advise you to check out the KRK brand products' range for example!
