Studer A1

I tested the A1 for about an hour from a distributor of hardware pro studio - which STUDER - localized Vevey - (CH). I had the opportunity to test them at the same time as the A3 (see notice thereof).

In my case I was looking for powered speakers of trs good quality for my home studio. INTERESTED in the first place by the big sister of the family STUDER - the A5 - all the same I wanted to hear that the youngest had to say. And I do not dcu t at all.

These two-way active speakers are destined to cost close to - but you'll quickly see that they offer much more than that as their auditory quality are important.

In terms of technical data, the easiest way is to go for a walk on the site of STUDER. I put a 8 because the intended use is costing proximity.

SOUNDS

I test the enclosure with three CDs of music diffrent trs (acoustic / classical, pop, rock hard) - I had nothing else at hand. Right away, it is clear: any default on the CD - inaudible on my hi-fi speakers JM Lab - come to light. No frquence is highlighted in particular - is so neutral trs. The image is stro trs good - close your eyes and you can view each instrument on scne - although the room is not dmo adapts trs.

Surprisingly / low frequencies to pass incredibly well. I thought that with an aperture of 10.2 cm and a lower limit of ca 58 Hz would sound like a common radio k7, eh bein, I must say I t breath. The spectrum is trs bein covered from top to bottom. While we will not infrabass but I can assure you they offer a dynamic and excellent claret.

In comparison with her sister A3, the sound is much more prcis - without agressivit. For example, on a passage from the CD rock snare dtach trs is much of the bass drum (recording yet antrieur to 80 ') which n'tait not the case with the A3.

I put a 10 point.

OVERALL OPINION

Certainly it is a dmo an hour so that decision can be set to any person using the bte 6 months for 4 hours per day.

What I particulirement apprcier with this forum is:
- The quality (Swiss) manufacturing and finishing impcable (some find it may be a little Austre, but I love)
- The relative power for its class (no big diffrence either A3 with her big sister!)
- The claret and neutralitbr />
The report quality seems excellent price (2000 CHF or about € 1,300) for a pair.

A BMOL only: the power will not be enough for me.

That's what I'm going to turn to more powerful 3-way speakers (when I found a place to test the A5).

For CATEGORY is a 10.

These HP is the killing ............ I needed a pair of speakers to assemble and BMD at home.

SOUNDS

Despite their small size, they have lots of bass, which quickly too mettre.Le sound is more gnreux is comfortable, but unpretentious. The Stereo is really good.
The sound reproduction and trs prcis finally a pair of speakers or what I DCID mix, I found the same when I go to a buddy, BMD in the arm or in the studio.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been a year and franchemnet, I can not find a point ngatif. I would do without this choice hsiter.Et from that found in this range speaker. This small bomb into the top of the pav.

I was looking for a pair of monitor, to mix (it goes without saying ...) with the following specifications: minimum footprint and maximum quality (Linares Australian and without as much as possible as insensitive as possible the dimensions of the pice (small), plus the positioning of the wind. APRS moultes research, I had the reconnatre EHJV silent meager, yet mod and no shortage (though .....). By chance (he parat that there is no chance ...), a divine way in my head rsons, and I heard : STUDER STUDER ....... Wanting test even when (it does not remake !...), I searched in vain for a place where power costs on or about Paris: white cabbage.
In short, I ended up power costs: THE FIRST going to print that I saw wrong and m'tais j'tais plutt in a toy shop, ds Premire seconds of costs, I remain silent ........

SOUNDS

The opinions were already well DIFFERENT Describes the thing. It's perfect at the foot of the head. Treble: powerful and aggressivit medium without end: but a large enough precision as to the serious invraissemblable: DEFINITIONS and an almost supernatural firmness, given the size of bbtes. Although sr, adding a subwoofer can, of sr, possibly, give more this level, but for me hand to mix in 5.1, I do not see the int rt for the time (and yet, God knows, if I like infra serious: I even prvu buying a box originally in my budget ...)
In conclusion, although the neutral is not REALLY pregnant, even after three weeks, I admit that I still can not .......

OVERALL OPINION

What I like most? the SON compared the size. And in addition it hardly vibrates.
The least: The only think you now .......... (May be, for some, the appearance, due to their small size, but to impress the pecain hand, what we ultimately do not care ........)
MODELS tried before:
DYNAUDIO: BM6A: Not bad, but too dull. BM5A: Too bright and so flattering.
FAR: OBS: Bluff acute but sublime but pervasive (even limit the max by the knob derrire, the coup in dsquilibrs mediums. Cons by excellent for HI FI or "costs but not to mix (personal and subjective of course).
KRK: Medium too far forward, the lower chamber o? (Very bad pun !....)
FOSTEX: IDEM for medium (a lesser degree) and low round a bit (PM01)
YAMAHA: MSP10 Too dry and still trim. (It's weird but it's like a)
GENELEC: For me the face of foutage !..... But how to mix the above?? (L I will not make me as friends !.... Y'en a stud in so what?? Just to correct the cost (flattering) and again .......
And of course MACKIE HR824: Not natural at all
Report quality price: Chrea OK, but with the slam, amply justified.
I do it again this choice with his eyes closed (I almost said ears mouths .....), unless I find better but I think it's not tomorrow .... APRS can be tomorrow that is ??????
