« For voice ... »
Published on 12/14/12 at 03:28I use these speakers for a series of TV mixing ... The client had had the usual mounting Documentaries hear her over, so we had to add them to the main system.
60w they announce, but I find them fairly powerful compared to 8020 or genelec my celestion ditton 33 ...
SOUNDS
They are quite tiring when you have over intense days.
Unpleasant to write, because analytical, they are there to show defects by to please us ...
The mid / high-mids are very gross ... we do hear the voice of defects, com and singing. But suddenly they are a bit aggressive.
OVERALL OPINION
I use them for 3 years, especially in the second listening, because I find tiring and unpleasant enough to compose long.
But I always audited smixs above, and the voice over work.
After to the home studio that will have the budget for one pair, which will mainly music and premix, I suggest instead of fostex pm1 to have a little bass.
For use stereo, go your way, for sound editing and mixing, once again, why not listen to the second, but in principal, the focal CMS40, Althoughthe a little more expensive, should be less tiring and more balanced.
Good speakers, but rather targeted.
