This device is an ADAT converter. So AD and DA converters 8 channels with a digital signal in and out of the machine is ADAT: 8 channels passing through a single cable Toslink.
This type of device is intended on any device be connected ADAT, especially on maps that are in the ADAT converter gnral not much less pramplis microphones.
I used to have 8 analog inputs on my Fostex VF supplmentaires-16, making 16 entries ^ ^ ^ ^
Its main CHARACTERISTICS makes it interesting is the fact that a possde prampli micro (and a knob trim) on each input and at the time these lines j'cris o ( July 2004), few ADAT converters are quips: this alone is worthwhile to be stressed. All analog inputs and outputs are XLR symtrique and also between a jack possde assymtrique in addition to the XLR input on each channel. It can provide Gallant phantom power on all XLR power supply so that some microphones require electrical power mode in order to pick up sounds.
OVERALL OPINION
Well, the only thing I find unfortunate, in ergonomics, is the fact that the buttons SETTING THE sensitivity of micro pramplis are notched into a dozen positions :-(((( What damage: has made it more difficult to for ... = increasing rglages In addition, it is recommended not to turn it off before the device on which it is connected to ADAT or risk to block it . But a hand is a device trs simple to use, hardly need the manual to operate as long as the user hast a minimum of technological culture in the field of audionum America pro.
