« Wonderful! »
Published on 05/30/11 at 07:30Done on request by a company called Vintage Maker
(Http://vintagemaker.site50.net), based in Hungary from a card Neumann V475-2C and its transformers and RK310 RK292 Haufe, all assembled by hand.
Everything is custom made, which means that you choose the number of in / out, the design of the front panel switches you want, the model of card, etc. ...
Paul, the man who assembled the machine, you send the same (high level) photos of the construction day by day.
In my case, the features are:
Size 1 rack unit. 32 inputs (12 stereo, 8 mono), 4 output (2 stereo), all connectors are TRS, two front potentiometers to independently adjust the level of output L and R. Note that the processors are present on the buss L and R, after summation.
UTILIZATION
Simpler, you die, plug and play ...
SOUNDS
Firstly, the first thing that come to mind when you test the adder is: it sounds beautifully!
Then listening more carefully, we break down the ingredients of this sound.
Firstly, in terms of coloration, there is certainly a color, but it remains very neutral, compared to a NEVE 8816 for example. This color makes it very clear, the homogenized mix, enhancing the sound of low frequencies, but without the increase in volume. The widening the stereo while a tad, just enough to feel the difference and get a broad mix. In summary, all the characteristics of good self-respecting German processors.
OVERALL OPINION
Level money, I think it's impossible to find better, especially at the level of quality, it is already in the very high end. It's hard for me to give you a price, being given that all characteristics "custom" (number of in / out connectors, design) influence the price of course, but it is very very reasonable.
Otherwise, the global level, I is not vraimemt reproaches him for now, the manufacture of excellent quality, the sound is really beautiful and lends itself very well to all styles of music (rock, hip hop, electronica, pop).
I invite you to take a look at the site of the manufacturer, Vintage Maker:
