Bought second-hand recement, just randomly, just on the reputation of Soundcraft.
16 Mic Line, 4 Aux outputs in groups, phantom power switchable on each input, insert effects, etc.
The power supply is separated and a fly is essential, all weigh its weight.

SOUNDS

Console transparent, warm sound surprising, I've used the Mackie and Yamaha and other game certainly lower, but then I do not recognize my microphone. Upon receipt, I tried to connect the most rotten of them and turned the EQ and faders in every sense, the console is quiet, not a crash despite the age of the console. The sound is great, the corrections effective and intuitive. The sliders are flexible, strong and reassuring, the knobs just waiting to be manipulated. I hate to see what it is live, I certainly would not be disappointed.

OVERALL OPINION

I can step back and little experience with this material, but I do not think I made a bad choice. For a few hundred dollars you can have in general a low game nine.
The only drawback is the weight of the tool with its external power supply and fly.
As soon as I find an eight-lane, I buy it immediately benefits for small and I sell my Yamaha!
Following the opinion in 2010, the Yam is sold and I found an 8-way for a pittance. Certainly say that the equipment is cumbersome and outdated, I'm happy. No more than three trips per year, not worth spending more .... And at least it sounds.

UTILIZATION

This table may be a little old but it has everything you need.
Nothing more and nothing less!

The four meters are given very specific and effective in addressing the input gain and output with the PFL. This is very useful.

The faders are long enough and very efficient.

SOUNDS

In short: Sound kitu
It is super quiet! no breath.

In addition it provides a sound hot.

The preamps are very good quality. there are very transparent and with the gain, they bring a great deal of warmth to any signal which passes through the cables! I even used this table to make registration without any preamp + or else. The result is amazing!

The equalizer is not semi parametric medium but there are four fixed frequencies. The knobs are very responsive but moderately accurate. But it's enough to make some corrections because the frequencies are fairly well distributed.

On the model I had, the post auxiliary blowing a little, this was due to the age of the beast ....

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it for my group to use a scene (and repeated).
On stage all the beats went in with a microphone or direct b
We needed 18 inputs and the console was very convenient. Today, I sold it because she took too much space at home (group hs)

What I liked most is the quality of preamps. And especially the warmth it brings to the microphone by pushing the gain.

if one day I besion a 24-channel console, I would do the same choice without any doubts.
only problem: it is not easy to find secondhand ....
