Akai Pro introduces today at NAMM 2015 the new Timbre Wolf and Tom Cat drum machine, both analog devices.
Timbre Wolf is a polyphonic analog synthesizer which four voices can be configured in mono, unison or poly. It is equipped with an Akai Pro 25-note keyboard, 32-step sequencer per voice, octave controls and a LED display. Akai says that you can modify each voice independently while you play.
The Timbre Wolf will be available in July for $499.
Also new at Akai Pro, the Tom Cat analog drum machine hosts 5 percussion voices (kick, snare, claps and chromatically tunable Disco toms). Continuously variable tuning, amplitude envelope and volume controls can be used on each instrument separately while you play and swing, pattern select and tempo features are also included.
Tom Cat also has 6 MPC-style pads, a 32-step sequencer and a “Maul” circuit gives you the ability to dirty the sounds.
Tom Cat will be free in July, you can adopt it for $199.
