It is a "compressor", thus serves to compress the signal to make it more powerful or more or "net". This is analog (the top in my opinion!). It is specific to the bass. The metal case is indestructible (I have not tested it by passing it under a car ...). Say that before the fart must be really turned on!

Mine was among the first in a series of EBS. At the time unknown, it would be very expensive, but was already talking about them. I had to be the first to have it in France ...

UTILIZATION

The config is clear, I never used the manual (there is two or three buttons). The switch on the side ... Never understood the utility?

Once plugged in, do not use the bypass: the click is horribly noisy!

SOUND QUALITY

For sound: great for super well balanced, fine, a delight in terms of understanding. It is not super big oozing understanding. Say when you want slapper, even with a low average, the triggers and there: Pwouingggggg!

The only drawback is the quality: so useful and discreet that you end up putting all the time. It loses its interest because its built-in, he has no interest in a foot pedal rather than a compressor built into the gear ... Ideally I would have been the same integrated rack! For there he finds all its interest ...

Second point: for a good bass player (on his precise) with a good bass, it is not used much because it will not bring any more "sound" per se ...

OVERALL OPINION

I've had it for quite a few years before selling it (wrong way). I sometimes regret it because it was really well designed and easy to handle.
Defects:
- The switch is super noisy (avoid in acoustics during the song you would hear a big "click" beating down the atmosphere! For rock or punck no worries ...
- Too quiet sometimes ...
- Too expensive (for what it is) and on occasion! So it is better to move to the new one it seems ...
(You can find better for less now ...)
- The dial on the side, which brought nothing very obvious in the sound ...
- The internal trim supposed to adjust the sound as desired ... infeasible except if you're an electronics!
