Value For Money : Excellent
Bass Amplifier Head
Lamp preamp.
Mosfet power section.
Made in USA 1993.
350 watts / 4 ohms (in theory ..)
It can go down to 2 ohms.
Settings: Volume, Gain, Aural Enhancer, Bass, Mid, Treble, Effects Blend ...
HPs output jack.

Failure of many Basic 350 this time: a big "pop" ignition which can be scary ... in fact, the current is sent directly to the speakers who take a good shot every time we turn off lights or gear .. technician explained to me the concern but I can not tell you transcribe ...

UTILIZATION

Very easy to use.
It was with this amp clear and precise sound.
Type hi-fi, some would say.
An accurate rendering of the instrument.
The beautiful sound of SWR that time does not forgive mistakes.

SOUNDS

I do not think this amp has helped me break through the mix group although it has a nice sound. (After I made with the metal, I do not comment on other styles ...).
Difficult to get a "fat" or "fat" in my sound ... it's pretty accurate, well-defined, bright.
The settings are quite effective.
Lamp preamp brings perhaps a slight heat, but it's still a very clear and precise amplifier and reproduces the sound of your fingers and your instrument.
on the other hand it is far from 350 watts advertised even with 2 speakers connectés.Donc largely overestimated power. For me it is a 100-watt amp, neither more nor less.

OVERALL OPINION

I used it for 5 years or so I près.Et connectais a Trace Elliot 4x10 .. I always had trouble hearing my instrument in a group with this amp.
Before, I had a Fender BXR 100, so nothing to see combo ..
The sound of the 350 Basic has progressed me, this is actually a good sound in the sense that there is a lot of definition ... means all errors and approximations.Pour me, this is the gear for pros bassists or advanced level ..
It is not in my amp rock
I'm more comfortable playing on the Markbass more "flattering" as its easier to play.
I do not know the current new series of X SWR.
I quickly tested a SWR SM400 that it either was not very powerful and a SWR SM 900 with a beautiful sound but the volume has little impressed me.
Currently, there are 350 Basic cheap. The quality / price is very used bon.Mais do not expect a powerful amp.
However, the SWR of this era remains reliable in its design. I think it is robust.
