Blend.io is a community website that gives musicians and composers the opportunity to showcase their creations and share them with others in order to make collaborative music. The particularity of Blend is that you will upload your DAW projects, currently Ableton Live, Maschine, Pro Tools, Logic and GarageBand are supported, and FL Studio is next on the list.
Those who wish to collaborate or remix these projects can download (“pull”) the raw audio and MIDI files, not bounced files. The site uses Dropbox to “pull” and publish the projects.
It is also possible to share projects to listeners and a “like” system is available for those who want to support your work.
Blend has launched a contest and invites you to create and share a track in which you will use the FabFilter Twin 2 plug-in (you can download a free trial version at www.fabfilter.com). You will also need to add the “Twin2Blends” tag to the song before uploading it to the site before June 2nd, 2014. A jury will choose the two winners.
People can access Blend on invitation only, but you, lucky AFers, have a direct access to registration here.
Good Luck!!
