Denon Professional is launching the DN-V500BD professional Blu-ray player.
Described as a universal HD media player, the DN-V500BD is capable of playing just about every disc you can throw at it, including BD-Rom (BD-Video), DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW with support of VR mode discs, audio CDs, CD-R/RW, MP3, WMA audio, JPEG written CD-R/RWs, and Kodak Picture and Fuji Color CDs, according to Denon.
Additionally, a front panel mounted flash memory card slot supports content stored on SD, SDHC, miniSD and microSD memory cards. Denon’s video processing technologies include high quality 10-bit video processing for both HD and SD signal sources, and up-scaling of SD video signals to full 1080p / 24f output using Anchor Bay Technologies VRS processing. There is also support of AVCHD and Div HD formats. On the audio front, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, are processed internally for output via the 7.1 channel outs or transmitted the via the HDMI output. An ethernet port supports BD-Live Profile 2.0 functionality and firmware updates; bonus BD content accessed over the internet can be stored for playback on SD / SDHC memory cards.
HDMI v1.3a output supports Deep Color, x.v.Color and High-Bit-Rate audio transmission, and 7.1 analogue outputs with full bass management and separate stereo analogue outputs are included. An RS-232c serial control port enables integration and management within Crestron or AMX control systems. Navigating the OSD / GUI is simple using the included Glo-key IR remote control, and a remote lock feature is included for installations wishing to lock out the ability to do so. The DN-V500BD also comes with a 3RU rack kit for standard 19” rack mount installation.
