Installation is ultra-simple, no incompatibility. The config is of the same style, there is little fawns all nearly the same commands on all compressors, so ... I have not read the manual (I do not know even not if there is one, for that matter ...) because it n'tait not helpful.

    ADQUATION / PERFORMANCE

You can see my config by clicking on my nickname - sorry I'm a little tired:-)
In any case, a nickel turns home.
Performance is not too quantifiable, let's just say the result is very clean and downright impressive for the freeware.
    Perfectly stable software.

    NOTICE GLOBAL

I use it for more than 6 months, and I am delighted.
I like most: his free sound, low power consumption CPU
I like least: uh, I do not know ... maybe the color of the interface?
I confess to not having tried bcp models before, but to give you an idea: it gives a good best result that the built-compressor on the DSP of my 0404, for example.
There are probably more powerful compressors that it (but not free), but he does his job very well:
empcher very cleanly volume peaks, not stifle or dnaturer the original sound and without grsiller when pushed a bit the output gain.
Price quality ratio, well, since it's free, forcment unbeatable!
I would do this choice and I advise eyes closed (but ears open!)

    - The installation is done it without problems?
Oh yes! I am still amazed
    - Have you experienced any incompatibilities?
    Nope. It's great, well-accepted Sonar3
    - The general configuration is easy?
Yes and more, for me the turning of the buttons and hear the result immediately helps a lot. If more turn on / off the VST is even more glaring. Before I used the compressor based Sonar (not sonitusFx eh) ... type values, it is fine but if you do not really know what is done is not great, must cancel and start over.

I have not seen / read the manual, but for me the important thing is to try to understand the results provided by each knob turned and hear the results immediately. Because ultimately a preset may not match each piece I do, it's more compression to handle a case by case

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

    - What is the configuration of your computer? (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk / sound card ..)
I'm running on an old Sonar3 PIII 933 Mhz with 512 MB of SDRAM in Win2000pro. A master disk of 40GB (MAXTOR) and a slave 160 GB (Hitachi) for backup before archiving to CD or DVD.
    - The software works he correctly on this configuration?
So far I never had to complain, it is even on wheels when I was under Win98SE
    - What performance? (If quantifiable)
The question is not got it
    - This software + hardware is stable?
    As said above: yes

    OVERALL OPINION

    - How long have you use it?
Yesterday afternoon poking going on a site where I also took the limit from the same publisher
    - What is so special that you like most and least?
+ We know what we are doing just by turning the knobs.
    - Really to quibble, it would be nice if the VST was able to tell what place are annoying peaks, which would allow me to compress just enough.
+ / - Some might say that the interface is a little sad, but I color in any direction does not help me more.
    - Have you tried many other models before buying it?
The compressor base Sonar3 in which I had to type the parameters without knowing what it really change the sound.
    - With experience, you do again this choice? ...
Yes, they have a spectrum analyzer I'm interested

The Kjaerhus Audio Classic Compressor is a piece of free software available as a VST plug-in. I no longer run this plug-in in my current suite as I now run Pro Tools instead of Cubase, which is what I was running this with before. The process of downloading and installing this plug-in shouldn't take too long as it is an easy step by step process. The interface of the plug-in is very straight forward and just contains the familiar compression parameters including those for threshold, ratio, knee, attack, release, and output level. As most users can probably tell, those who are familiar with traditional compression parameters will feel right at home here. I don't think a manual is necess…

As most users can probably tell, those who are familiar with traditional compression parameters will feel right at home here. I don't think a manual is necessary for any part of this plug-in, but haven't seen one so I can't speak to it's make up.

    SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

When I ran the Kjaerhus Audio Classic Compressor plug-in I did so in Cubase SX 2.0 primarily, and later in Cubase 3. The computer I was running it on was a Hewlett Packard Pavilion dv8000 lap top with a 3.0 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM. I don't recall ever having an issue running this plug-in, as it doesn't take up very much processing power. It isn't like I was running one or two at a time either, as many times I had a whole bunch of these going within a single session. Most users won't have a problem running this, but since it's free there isn't any harm in trying as every system is different.

    OVERALL OPINION

When I was running the Kjaerhus Audio Classic Compressor it was a plug-in that I used quite often. For a free plug-in, it's even more impressive. While I don't know how much I would use this now if I had it in my Pro Tools rig as I have superior sounding compressors in my current rig, but when I didn't have as much to work with, this one often came in handy. I'd encourage anyone with a DAW that is VST compatible to download the Kjaerhus Audio Classic Compressor, as you really don't have anything to lose!
