Slate Digital has announced its long-awaited Virtual Microphone System is finally complete.
While the principle of trying to emulate the sound of a list of precise microphone is nothing new (think Antares Mic Mod EFX), Slate has developed the concept further, providing microphone and preamp for a sound result that can be expected as more coherent and standard – of course, whether it is only a good thing or not is another debate.
It will be shipping in December, and the price for the pack containing the microphone, the preamp and the software is $999.
