Samson Technologies S-direct plus

The Samson S Direct Plus is a phantom powered box that has a lift switch. It is only 40 bucks and it is very easy to use and set up. It is a plug and play device that has gold plated XLR balanced outputs. The bottom of it has rubber corners to prevent it from sliding on any surface that you may have it sitting on. The Samson S Direct Plus has 48 volts of phantom power or you can use 9 volts for auto battery shut off.

UTILIZATION

The Samson S Direct Plus has 2 ¼ inputs and 2 XLR outputs. It is very small and portable, it will fit in your jeans pocket it is so small. I originally got this to boost up some signals and it has done just that for me. I am so happy that it only cost me 40 dollars. I have been using it for 5 years now and still using it often to this day.

SOUND QUALITY

While using the Samson S Direct Plus I have noticed a lot of improvements in sound quality coming from some of our acoustic guitars by using it in the signal chain.

OVERALL OPINION

From the first time that I purchased the Samson S Direct Plus 5 years ago I knew that I would end up having more of them and now I have 4 of them. I do not use them all at the same time though, I keep 2 at home and 2 in my gig and equipment bags for when I am doing shows or in other studios. It has come in handy to have this little device with me at all times because you never know when you will need it. It is built to last you a long time and after you get one of them you will want to have more of them. You just can’t beat this price.

2 entries asymmetric 6.35, 2 outputs / asymmetric link in Jack also 6.35, and exits with the Treaty XLR (balanced so) signal.
All in a sturdy aluminum casing and feels good longevity.

UTILIZATION

Just need a square 9V battery, you plug in the jack input on XLR spring hop and voila.
The record is not in my opinion nothing.
The switch "GTR / SPK" is just the entry level, the switch "Battery / Phantom," it is he who will allow the circuit power (in my case it is ON / OFF button) and switch "Ground Lift" which serves to isolate the circuit ground.
The unbalanced outputs is if there ever needs to get out the signal to an amp for example, just to get the treaty for recording signal.
For my part, I used to have a balanced audio input signal to my speakers, just to have more parasites.

SOUND QUALITY

Well I am amazed because for the price, no breath, no, neutral signal and cleaned of parasites that I had (and frankly I went away with the mass of the power of the PC in the audio signal + permanent buzz ). Frankly nickel, ultra clean signal.
I have not tested that it could give on a synth, guitar or another, this is not what I wanted but there's every chance that the quality is well.
After there is probably better, I have not tested other models but yes putting more expensive, they could have better. For my part, I have a nickel signal in my speakers, I do not see why I will spend more

OVERALL OPINION

My use of the DI is especially in order to eliminate noise and masses present in my speakers. In fact, my card is in a desktop PC, I had constant noise, the sound of scrolling mouse, navigation, hell. Even putting a filter on the PC power and the speakers, I could barely has alleviate the problem.
So immediately after plugging the DI, turning my speakers, I wondered if I had everything plugged in, if I had her because I heard nothing. Sticking my ears to the speakers, I saw that if I heard they worked well, it's just that the signal was almost neutral, as if they were extinct.
In short, I was advised to connect a DI between my card and speakers and frankly it should be a general council so it removes any possible interference signal. It's magical limit.
Frankly, a remake? A downright but yeah.
In fact, the longer it goes, the more I think Samson are really good stuff for a very affordable price (their S-Patch +, unbeatable quality / price ratio).
At that price (€ 44 purchased new this week), it'll be hard to get better.

SOUND QUALITY

I use the output of a synthesizer Xstation, before returning to the table mix
I symmetrizes easily and rule my worries for cheap
no sound distorted, same quality, but watch out for cables made in china, choose the right cable.

also think about the box set, even if like that it looks heavy, double-sided positioned avoids concerns stall an external power supply

I put 9 because the gear is shielded, super strong, and the quality goes lez years without worries

UTILIZATION

Well, it's a direct box, the children: the use does not require the BAC!
You plug you food, and you come away with real good symtriques Cables (most importantly, if the SAMSON working for nothing.)

SOUND QUALITY

Sound quality: clear, and that's all I ask.
No loss of highs, no loss of momentum, no parasites.
One word: NICKEL.

OVERALL OPINION

I for a week. I use it mainly in live condition.
A 44 box is a budget price for 2 in a DI box.
I do it again this choice without hsiter
