Crest Audio and Waves have partnered to launch Tactus, a new live digital mixing system that uses touch technology.

Tactus is designed to be used with the new Waves eMotion mixing software for Soundgrid in live situations. The system features a touch screen interface with routing, processing and mixing tools and Waves plug-ins support, Tactus.FOH core processing and server unit and the Tactus.Stage remote stage box.

 

Tactus.FOH specifications:

  • Primary server for the Tactus mixing system, hosting and supporting the eMotion LV1 software mixing platform.
  • The Tactus.FOH will function as a standalone core for an 8 in, 8 out mixing platform.
  • 8 balanced mic/line inputs, XLR, TRS and 1/4" Phono
  • 8 balanced outputs – First 4 are male XLR connectors, 2 of which have parallel TRS jacks, plus 4 additional TRS jacks.
  • High performance digitally controlled microphone preamps feature:
  • Low input noise at both high and low gain settings
  • High slew-rate
  • Very low THD
  • Mic input accepts a +27 dBu input signal without pad
  • 66 dB adjustment range in 1 dB steps to maximize dynamic range
  • Gain changes on zero crossing to minimize adjustment noise.
  • 48-Volt phantom power switchable on every mic input.
  • Integral gigabit Ethernet switch for easy networking
  • Waves SoundGrid Digital audio network protocol
  • Balanced output maximum level switchable between + 24 dBu and + 18 dBu
  • Supports sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz
  • External word clock input and output
  • Two AES digital outputs
