Tascam DP 01

UTILIZATION

I had a 4-track cassette Yamaha for 10 years ... and the use of DP 01 is even easier! very simple configuration, I used the manual at first use, now it runs itself. You can do everything very easily: punch in / out, Repport tracks, mix the song. Transfer to PC is super easy. I export the song mixed, or all tracks, then I open with Audacity, for rework individually Cleaner all, refine the intro, to end in a fade out, cut and paste, insert silences, effects ... Or I reworked the master with Goldwave. I never got that quality with my (old) pc. Finally a machine to register that does not crash, and that can really concentrate on his songs.

SOUNDS

The sound is nickel, it's format wave in cd quality. The DP01 has no built-in effects (such as the DP01 Fx), but I use a V-Amp Beringer for electric guitars, reverb and a small external voice. I was looking for a scrap book for my songs, but ultimately it's even better than that.

OVERALL OPINION

Long ago I wanted to move to 8-track, because in four tracks K7, with Repport tracks, you lose quality. I tested the pc with a lot of crashes, because my config was just a little. I hesitated to buy another pc, but it took me a little too far in price. After seeing the reviews on Audiofanzine, I chose the DP01 (bought last month, used ... on Audiofanzine!). That's exactly what I wanted: a list of draft for my songs, with still a great sound. Very easy to use, one branch were recorded, replay it, re-recorded it just a game, you can really concentrate on the song and prod. Whether to record, mix, or transferred to the PC, everything is simple. I just have a little external reverb and more. It made me look like the good stuff, well tough. Frankly, quality / price ratio amazing. Go for it!
