UTILIZATION

very simple, just need to book early but quickly assimilated.

SOUNDS

good internal effect, if the effect send is but you still need an external effect of internal quality surpassed those. Maquerais a compressor / limiter for mastering, has been corrected in the new version (neo).

OVERALL OPINION

4 years of use.
With my experience in profesional studio with high-end equipment (tape Studer, akai, dat, consol neve ...) I find this very protable multitrack honnète and surpasses many small home studio with computer (without the disorder and latance configuration) or similar equipment.
The only negative points most used buttons starts showed signs of fatigue, and the screen is small but I just remedy the situation with a VGA output to a computer screen.
If it breaks and I did not become a millionaire by the I rechèterais the same or newer.

UTILIZATION

I use it for years. NO major failure. Two-time glitches:

I have tried or owned any model like this before, but a Tascam Portastudio 4-track cassette recorders very useful, but really not the same caliber.

Price / quality ratio UNBEATABLE in my opinion.

This recorder is not tiny but it is very transportable ... and then you have to think that moving is a real small studio (which is a very good recorder and an EXCELLENT "maquetteur" / notepad!), Even if we can not consider him to compete with the productions of the market, albeit modest.

This console is nice cot look it possde most (not something that is used and never clutters the menus for anything) it is easy to use yet it is my first purchase of this kind. I note 8 because I galr synchro.En for MTC, if configured by Matra on, a slave with Cubase SX3 is the sound made DCAL time. may be should be given 8 Cubase?

Tascam 2488 MKI first released me after 4 years of loyal service. I realize all my educational tapes, voice and live in studio throughout the year: my favorite seller Freyming-Merlebach (Dom will recognize) offered me the MKII: It holds since April 2008 despite the 370 "Songs "registered. So reliability is for the time u go.

What thing do you like most/least about it?

Adding a more logical and mastering the ability to split a single "Song" (if taken to Live or crossfades) to burn different brands as a track on CD is a good idea.

The least? The dynamics of current productions difficult to find with such a machine, but hey, there, one enters the art of mix and master ... I have not done the course with Brian Eno and Bob Rock (joke!)

No: a 24-track moind to 1500 euros when it came out ... I think few could rival race condition. And here are the biggest strong point ... The comfort of the 24 tracks!

Willingly unless I give the money to invest beyond, but good: first enroll in internship Brain ENO and Bob Rock (2 sets so if it can do it!)
