« worked well for a while  »

Value For Money : Correct
Audience: Anyone
i have used this mixer/recorder for about 15 times since i bought it to do some home recording demos. simple. easy ro use.

but, i started ro notice that the rewind button was not functioning properly the past few times i used the machine. i would have ro depress it several times to start at the beginning of a recording to add a new part. and now, the rewind button has totally ceased to work. i have to power off and back on to zero out again.

i understand that teac (tascam) charges $75 for a diagnostic test - and then $75 an hour for repairs and any parts are extra - after the 90-day warranty runs out. not to mention teh shipping cost. seems steep for lower-end model!

i would not buy this machine if i could go back in time knowing what i now know.

i would stick with a daw and a pc.

i also have the 32-track model - which is more intimidating. and now i also live in fear of this much more expensive machine not operating similarly.

i think in this day and age tascam is a rip-off. and they know their days are numbered.
