I bought my unit new from the Music Station
in Inverness, I paid £600.00 for it and must admit I was a bit scheptical at first
when you consider that an equivilent Yamaha
unit is closer to 3K, anyway I took it home, read the book and within a few hours I had produced, mixed and recorded to CD a
pretty impressive recording ,I am absolutely delighted with the machine ,its everything and more for my requirements.

its build quality ,ease of use ,recorded sound quality and mostly the price!!!!!

could do with an external monitor facility, but for the price i paid
I can live with an LCD.

Nicely finished, nice colour and solid

I am glad I visited the Music Station that day as I managed to buy the last unit they
had in stock.

Purchased over the new, new, for 950.00

The features are a great idea.
1) Simple to use.
2) The idea of many multiple effects and REMS
3) In unit CDR

1) Very Poor sound quality in the end product. Final sound is weak, brittle and the reason that people call Digital sterile.

2) Very cheap construction.

3) Power problems.
4) Software is finicky.
5) Input levels lack power. Al,ost need to clip to distortion any signal coming in.
5) Very cheap sounding final cd.

1) Plastic exterior
2) Intenal electronics fai.
3) Eeeeek

1. RUN AWAY from this, if you are spending the price reatilers and Zoom is asking for. very cheap unit. Look at the monthly diving cost of this unit new on ebay. Should be worth 300.00 by years end.

I purchased this unit from Music 123. I have been looking for a multi-track recorder for a while and have compaire features from other manufacturers. This unit had more features in the price range being equal. Paid 950.00

The MRS-1266 CD is very easy to use and is laied out in a very logical manor. The manuel is easy to follow and has a great result in the finished product

Cant really say that anything about this recorder that I dont like

The construction of this unit is very well done. It is very solid and all of the controls and buttons are easy to use and dont bind up. The unit is made of quility parts and is not a bunch of plastic that will break after minimal use

I am very satisfied with this unit and as other Zoom equipment that I own works as it should and does what it states it does and not just skims the surface. The 1266 for the price range is the best unit for the money with more features and effects and recording applications that outher units in the price range

UTILIZATION

Finish "plastic" -> to hang carefully if you want to keep it long
FX section: the classics; factory patches nice and configurable but lacks the "warmth"
Part Drum machine: bin .... it's a drum machine with bass line.

SOUNDS

Sound quality is satisfactory to mock treated.

OVERALL OPINION

7 months of use;
the most: - 6 tracks recorded simultaneously (nickel for a sound to combine)
- Transport (carefully !....)
- Price ok without CD (900 € nine on a German site)

the least: - punch in / out not possible in six simultaneous tracks
- Fragile
- It's all in one step € 1000 -> effects and midi sounds not awesome

Personally, I used especially as a mixing desk before throwing on my PC. editing is possible on the machine but less simple than the computer.
It's not pro stuff but it can be a good complement to a PC without a sound card "multi inputs."

6 2 inputs (two inputs front - between high impdance for guitar or bass - dconnectent Premire entrance opposite the 2 rear), two XLR or jack + 4 jacks, midi in one, one out, external power, headphone output on the front, side rear exit cinch.

UTILIZATION

Use a little tedious at beginners but you get done relatively quickly becomes a hard drive when you want to do sampling and loops: one works as it were blinded, a time counter (not even pr smells edition) reading and edition of the loop almost lends (brand) we are left with a parameter of time for the start and another to stop ... galre, but hey, after two hours we start to be the ear, which in itself is a good thing, right?
The manual is not forcment a great help, in view o the machine is intuitive (almost) but it will when it rferer blocks of sub menus bullshit fucking evil . Unfortunately, even if the manual is full rev, it is a bit tedious to follow.
The use of unusual rhythm bote Drout the frustration of electronic music, but an APRS adaptation time you get there

SOUNDS

To get an ide of sound that can be obtained in DEFINITIONS, better show up in the store, ask to connect the machine and cost the music dmonstration.
Obviously this is not the multitrack studio neve, but that price is terrible and the sound effects rituals are over.
The pace will not bote RVer electronic music fanatics, but what will delight fans of rock and pop bass line .... tjs is the kind of bass that makes me laugh: sounds good but we feel that it is not so much a human cheek ...
EQ peus trs large but clean.
Effects for most purposes (especially the compressor and the effects aplicable on guitars, APRS while we are at Zoom)
The comparison will seem you can be completely dbile, but hearing the song for the introduction of the machine, I immediately thought of a SilentHill 3 (music gnrique of commencement) done all the style of his ... So for those who still have their paddle ...

OVERALL OPINION

I did that for a month and all it takes for matriser correctly.
The report quality price has not beaten that day t (the competitors are still in four simultaneous input 4)
Versatile machine, because we know CRER loops and read (reading, during recording and playback) to the rhythms (support) register ( tjs better for a multitrack) and edit the piece until completely 'burning the cd through the eq, effects etc ...
