The P-105 is suited as a practice instrument for the beginner to intermediate pianist as well as for the price-conscious semi-professional, according to Yamaha.

The Yamaha P-105 has an 88-note, Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) weighted action keyboard that is designed to feel heavier in the low end and lighter in the top, like the keys of an acoustic piano. It also features the PureCF sound engine that recreates the sound of Yamaha’s CFIIIS concert grand piano.

The USB TO HOST port and line-level AUX outputs allow a variety of connectivity options with everything from an amplifier to an iPad. Additionally, with the optional Apple Camera Connection Kit, Yamaha Apps like Piano Diary and NoteStar are designed to open up various possibilities. With its 128-note polyphony, the P-105 is designed to ensure the suppression of dropped notes even with simultaneous Dual & Split modes and a drum pattern playing.

The P-105 also allows for side-by-side piano practice for two people using the new Duo mode.

Additional features include ten pianist styles that essentially give the user a built-in duet partner that plays along in one of ten different playing varieties like boogie woogie, stride piano, or ballad Arpeggios. Furthermore, the built-in Rhythms offer ten patterns as an alternative to the traditional metronome.
