Allen & Heath XD2-53

The XD2-53 are a pair of closed back headphones that have 2.1 drivers. The earpieces can rotate for single ear monitoring and they can fold up. The XD2-53 are made by Allen and Heath, I have used a lot of products (mainly mixers and processors) made by Allen and Heath and everything they manufacture is made to last. These XD2-53 are the newest pair of headphones that I recently purchase and I got them a couple of days ago and when I took them out of the box the first thing that I noticed is they have a nice weight to them. They feel heavier than almost any other headphones that I have ever owned in the last 15 to 20 years. When I say heavier and weight I don’t mean like bulky, I man more like well built and made with solid materials. Also, they have a nice silver grayish finish on them and they are very comfortable. I have not worn them for more than 2 hours yet but I plan on using them a lot more in the weeks to come. They cost me 220 dollars originally but I had a online coupon through email and got them at 205.
Storing the XD2-53 is simple, just fold them up and put them away. These headphones are great to have for a situation where you are in a room that has a lot of other things going on in it with a lot of noise. When you put on the XD2-53 you will not hear anything that is going on in the room. It will just be you and the music. I use this to monitor with now in a local club that we perform at and crowd noise is not a factor with the XD2-53. So far I am happy with my purchase of the XD2-53 and look forward to spending more time with them.

My summary on the headset:

I bought Thomann because the price was very interesting and using a Xone 22, I wanted to see what was worth A & H headphone. I mostly took on a whim, I have a Technics RPDJ 1210, and Xone I used a bit of everything, mix when I wanted to keep my best Technics pou watch movies / series, music listening on my phone, etc ... Sound is really clean. The headphone when the fate of the box does not inspire confidence but it is used and the confidence is there, foolproof this headset, I did everything with, I was carrying when I went to the bar where I mix am a resident, etc ... He never default and as I am a bit careful with my Technics, the A & H was perfect.

With hindsight, I regret not having bought but sold, though I prefer my RPDJ-1210 which is far more comfortable, it's a cushion this headset on the ear and has foldable ear at 90 ° unlike the Xone.
Lower sound quality at Technics and finish a little cheap (though it seems more robust than Technics), but a high-level headset. Two years with and I really regret having sold.

Do you find it tiring during extended wear (headband too tight, holding hot headsets ...)?

To mix, since we do not wear headphones on the ears constantly, it is nice, but when I used it to watch movies, series, along with the atria shake ears and hurt a bit.

His joints are they well designed?

They fold well and handling the headset easy, nothing to say on this side

Tech-House, House, Minimal, Deep House.

Fits there easily to your head and your ears?

Yes ears, the headset will hold very well. The head is a different story, it is large enough, it is a headphone more suitable for people with a large head. Even minimal position, it was a little too big for me.

Its coatings are they pleasant?

In the long term, the atria rely too much on the cartilage of the ears and the headphone becomes uncomfortable after a while. In the mix, it was going very well.

Are you satisfied with the cable (length, section, connectors, etc.)?

The cable is one of the highlights, you can disconnect and reconnect it, very convenient for transportation. The size was plenty for me, anyway when mixing it rarely goes to 3 meters of the board or then just remove the headphone and move if we are not stupid.

I have this headphone for 3 months now. I posted the notice on the xd-53 therefore correct. I have not had the opportunity to try, but since I have excellent Xone 62 I told myself that this headphone was certainly of good quality.

I have not tried tons of headphones before this one, mainly Seinhezer and Monster.

The headphone is great (not for small heads) and covers the ears well, relatively comfortable, the design is quite nice, although the finish do a little plastic. It comes with its cover.

The headphones sound comes out relatively strong, so be careful during the first use.

From its side, it remains unsatisfied, the sound is not bad, but lacks a bit of momentum, treble and midrange are confused, not knowing exactly where their place is. In addition, if you go up the sound a bit when you mix in the evening (this is where I've realized), and no need to go all out, distortion appears, nibbling a little more the meager sound quality headphones, I expected better I must admit.

The value for money becomes laughable, I bought promo, but given all that, I would do that choice, and I tell you, if you please: go your way.
