Interesting control surface but ....
Published on 12/07/14 at 08:57This control surface isn't bad for a recreational use. It allows you to control 4 tracks in traktor (after mapping it). But I've had some problems: A buzz at 700 hz on the Main output and the controls age pretty bad.
Let's be clear, there are better options out there, Vestax or Denon are more reasonable choices, I think.00 - DJ Teut
Good...but with a major problem
Published on 11/30/14 at 07:14It's the first time I use a USB mixer. I've been using the SCS 4DJ for two months. I sent back the first one after a month because the buttons would block and there was no way to stop it. I love the fact that it can read directly from a USB key or a HDD without the need of a PC. The second one works fine, except for the decks (like the first one): Every time I try to move along the song I get an error message: "The song requires a function that hasn't been enabled," and the song disappears from my playlist. Since this is the second mixer with the same problem, I wonder whether it's a known defect or it's just me who doesn't know how to use it??? Not bad! Fun and convenient!
Published on 10/10/13 at 13:18 (This content has been automatically translated from French)How long have you use it?
-More than a year (use "moderate" they will say)
Have you tried many other models before buying it?
No, I have not tried many other "digital" decks, apart from the stuff of genres hercules passing quickly in stores, but I have experience of turntables (umx 7 mk2 serato ...).
What is the particular feature you like best,
-This is convenient because ... there's just plug and go! Everything is integrated, there's effects, display, etc., no need pc!
Touch scratch is very (very) right to my taste, the relative motion is multiplied slightly compared to a real turntable, but hey I quibble because, 1) to tell the truth is when I tried in the store to scra…Read moreHow long have you use it?

Touch scratch is very (very) right to my taste, the relative motion is multiplied slightly compared to a real turntable, but hey I quibble because, 1) to tell the truth is when I tried in the store to scratch it, I was conquered and 2) ben jog wheel is smaller in diameter than a 33 rpm huh .... So to scratch no latency and audio is realistic, the two jogs wheels plates are pretty beefy and heavy (metal)
Ok-fader (or even less, and the forum)
-5 USB ports for connecting peripherals his
A-rec button to save the session "live" on a USB.
-The effects are not comprehensive enough and maize (with appearances by three cue points added by the latest firmware)
-The firmware is progressing well and "boosts" the machine: the appearance of three cue points by individual gain control, pitch multiplied, MIDI mode ...
-I have not found many incompatible audio files.
-The headphone volume is powerful enough
The-OUTS than enough (and RCA jacks and 1 jack 1 mini jacks for headphones)
The least?
-Transfer and analysis long enough files and occupies ca processor machine also, eg ca may cause a conflict with the recording or reading another title (glitches, buzzs etc ... is enough ugly on live), wholesale: when you put a USB Device with a title for the first time, it was not until the third time the title to be able to see the scratch, self-synce, use effects, etc., as long as the SCS creates the USB file with information from the analysis, so DO NOT HAVE A TITLE BEFORE LETS MAKE ITS SCS TAF OR WORSE ... DO NOT MIX OF TITLE EVEN PERIPH ... gulp. (same for the REC must wait after recording arrested or partition your USB periph well [fat32 recommended in the manual in English] and do not save the periph that reads, but ca I've done ... and had no problems).
-Not by individual gain knob but the latest firmware allows manipulation to adjust the volume AND save the correction memory a volume correction related to a specific title.
-The crossfader ... today is a conflicting mark for me ... see my post on the forum I would repeat this mind later ... namely ... for now I'm worried whether I can change it by starting to falter (as any crossfader properly used) .. a priori, yes, (cross) fader is changeable but ... well, I advance that I I am not yet risqué.Et it probably lacks a support plate between the hull and the crossfader.
-The screen is so big, it will, but good.
How would you rate the quality / price?
Very good for an almost unique all-in-one (I was asking was the time on the Vestax VCI etc.), rendering and overall sound quality are good.
With experience, you do again this choice?
Yes, without doubt. But I expect to see the crossfader. (I'll come repeat.)See less20 - charlesbronson
Very nice!
Published on 03/23/13 at 16:14How long have you been using the product?
One week which I have spent organizing my MP3s rather than mixing.
Which feature do you like the most / the least?
The most:
- Once the song is analyzed, classified, it works automatically, it's fast if you know your songs well and how you have ordered them.
- The Touch system, you place your finger on the jog and it's like playing a vinyl, it's cool!
- The jogs are heavy, it doesn't feel as plasticky as the Kontrol S2. Nice!
- No need of a PC, which is fantastic!!
- 2 Jacks, 2 RCAs, enough outputs!
- The firmware which apparently evolves
- Once analyzed, everything is saved in the memory, CUE+3 HOTCUEs, BPM, the song's spectrum data, it…Read moreHow long have you been using the product?

- Once analyzed, everything is saved in the memory, CUE+3 HOTCUEs, BPM, the song's spectrum data, its length. And it's really fast!
- It has USB ports, so you can connect to it an HD or a USB key
The least:
- How slow it is to load songs at first, I have approx. 3,000 MP3 not 10,000 and it takes 5 minutes to be ready.
- No physical gain buttons for the mix tracks. The latest firmware version solved that, but it requires a 2-key combination
- The organization if you have an external drive with 20000 files...Good luck! The screen is small, so imagine how much fun it is to browse your MP3 library! Personally, I ordered them alphabetically with a playlist system (M3U) supported by the SCS4
- The silk-screen printing! I thought the Enter button was dirty, so I rubbed it...But it wasn't, the paint was damaged and it just got worse with the rubbing.
- The effects, especially the Slice effect, which is a nightmare to use
Did you try any other models before buying this one?
The S2, which is all right, but you need a PC...
Compared to the S2, the Jog is much more heavy, it doesn't feel as plasticky and it can be used without a PC!
How would you rate its value for money?
I bought it for $300!
Based on your experience, would you buy this product again?
I'm not sure it has many competitors!! YES, Id' buy it again, despite its defects! If it had a bigger screen and was faster managing files, it would be the best!See less00 - blade4661
Not bad at all
Published on 01/23/12 at 11:44I've been using it for a month now. I have previously used hercules, american audio vms4, and behringer mixers, plus Denon and Pioneer complete sets.
In terms of mixing, it's the easiest way to mix. If you know your songs, it's impossible to get it wrong. In terms of use, it's at the same level as traktor or Virtual dj. What I like most about it is its ease of use, the fact that it's all-in-one (no need of a PC) and that you can play back songs from a USB drive and even an iPod.

I'd surely buy it again If it cost the same I paid for it originally, because it's an all-in-one.
If you are hesitating about getting it, try it out and trust your first impression
