This version of Traktor works fine on my laptop Dell Inspiron 9400 from 2006, slightly less well on the Lenovo Ideapad S12 netbook (lack of power).

I use this version from prs 2 years and I am satisfied. I expect to have some money to offer me the console that goes with it (the S2 Traktor).

Easy to use, complete, I use my home as a completely private and for pleasure.
I turn on XP pack3, 3.5 RAM. No problems of incompatibility. Everything runs perfectly.

I use it with a card Presonus Firepod, 4 outputs so I route to A & H Xone S2 which is connected to my Central Station. (+ TC Electronic Finalizer Express or Behringer DCX2496). Sounds of hell.
I recently purchased the Denon MC6000 controller. That happiness. They are meant for each other.
Everything is stable, no problem.

Very affordable with the potential, so I think I will stay on Traktor Scratch Pro because the Pro is too bulky, sound card, platinum vinyl, Mac ...

I bought a virtual mixing console Hercules MK4 and I wanted to replace the software supplied with (Virtual DJ) in a version that was too limited.
I chose traktor pro to his reputation, and because there was a promo to 99 € in NI.
I use it in small parties with friends, coupled with the MK4, just for fun.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 6 months.
I appreciate its relative simplicity and the possibilities to map any MIDI controller with the "controlling manager" included. Good sound, effects and settings respond well, the automatic fitting the tempo is ok. Ditto for research in the collection that is fast.

Too bad it only supports its own internal effects (no plugin).
Another small flaw and can manage playslist but it lacks a mode 'random' for the shuffle.

I would say to sum up: effective product.

V1 chosen for its strength system, expanded his musical abilities (accessed in a modest setup sound card to a pro equipment, find the essential hardware functions, digital music library, effects ...)

1 year from now, a really good app. It does not crash or very little ... sound quality is the appointment despite a standard configuration, latency (control pc / CDJ) impeccable ... Like most people who have tried it I think I passed!

I loved mixing in "hardware" and the idea was retissant mix via a PC. but it makes a nice change for a relatively affordable!

What motivated my choice is that I used the first version that I appreciated for its ergonomics and stability.
I use a Vestax Typhoon solo or Ecler SMAC Pro 20 during configuration heavier on a MacBook Pro.
I mix for fun and sometimes for friends, former DJ, I wanted to get back but without re-invest in two Technics and a mixer of egg.
There's everything you need and it works, the trick is to get the right version ... And what was missing is now in version 2.

Instalation simple as long as we are connected to the Internet, otherwise it's possible but more difficult.
The general setup is fairly simple, the control panel is very comprehensive. I had a little trouble understanding the principle of Change in the section reserved for the setting of midi controllers, but nothing insurmountable. No incompatibilities encountered so far except that I can not configure my LED controller. The manual is clear and sufficient.

I use it for 2 years at least.
Previously I had been experimenting with Virtual DJ, and more recently MixVibes Dekadance. All bidders or less able or less pleasing ergonomics.
What I like most is the Grid system.
What I like least two regards: Unable sampler with the sampler! We can distribute sample but not create them in real time.
The value for money and good, especially if you work with NI products and that often puts its config updated.

I tried a bunch of software before falling on Traktor (in other words I did not know anything at all ...), and even software for Linux! In bulk, I have tried: Virtual DJ / Numark Cue, MixVibes Cross, Deckadance, Traktor (not Pro), Serato Itch, Pioneer DJS. Some are designed for aspiring DJs, like Virtual DJ, which I knew to have used a bit.
This time, I was looking for something Pro, a MIDI compatibility (this is not the case with Pioneer for example), but mostly exemplary ergonomics of the interface and features thoughts on Live.
That is exactly what Traktor Pro offers the user!

I am currently using Traktor 1.2.6, but also fairly regularly demo Traktor Pro 2. I think I will soon move to Scratch Pro 2 for mixing with Timecode CDs
For now I have a MIDI controller all-in-One (DJ I-Tech Reload Mix) and I managed to get a very satisfactory mapping. To start in the world of DJing semi-pro computer, these types of products are very suitable. Especially as MIDI can extend the possibilities according to the imagination! I have an external sound card Numark DJ iO which works very well with the software, but I am considering a move to 6 HD Audio Native.

(Regarding USB devices, I just bought two LPD8 Akai, and I'll be forced to buy a powered USB hub ON AREA (I stress this point). I could test drive + USB sound card on the same hub: The hard drive does not work! But it is a common problem for "computer DJ.")

OVERALL OPINION

I am a user for two years now, and I must say that I will not leave Traktor anytime soon (especially since version 2 really brings a big plus). As I said before, I tried many other software (trial versions) before I lay down, and my choice fell naturally on Traktor. So obviously it's expensive, but I think the price is jusifié.

Actually what is significant in Traktor, it is not certain features. Of course we can talk about the effects, which are really great, synchronization works perfectly (although I'm using hardly any) of "gridding" for detection of tempo, sampler version 2, the 4 decks, and a whole bunch of other things. But what attracts me in Traktor, it's really designed for pro DJ, who happens to live. Finally, and perhaps for many trivial but important to me, you can disable all the automatic and visual aids, to be closer to the mix on CD (for example, "Waveforms" decks are not included, which allows not to rely on the image to whether the two sounds are keyed).

So the question "With experience, you do again this choice?" I say a big YES, of course.
