- What characteristics have motivated your choice? : The brand of course, then the pleasure of being almost in front of 2 CDJ1000. But also the ability to customize the interface and the software works well for my taste as the abolition of the integrated mixer, assigning each virtual drive on a separate sound card, and so much more!
- For what purpose? : Especially for the leisure mix but I think more and more to use this software at the expense of my turntables VESTAX ...
- What is your config (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk ,...)? Dell Optiplex SX-270 with Pentium IV 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive solely dedicated to independent music, independent 2 sound cards, Windows XP Pro SP3, 19 "screen, keyboard and mouse.
- Which instruments or systems (console, preamp, DTD ...) and you use the connection with what? Software ... connected on channels 1 and 2 of my console Pioneer DJM 800 by stereo RCA cables and gold-plated OFC. Lanes 3 and 4 of the consoles are used by two turntables VESTAX PDX 2000.

GETTING STARTED

So to this point nothing special to say, the installation is going very well, quick and easy! The only problem is import MP3s that take time depending on the number of files to import at once. But this happens only once and roll after all, everything is classified, everything is organized to make life easier (I personally use the classification for every tempo that you select all your songs directly with roughly the same tempo - BPM). Configuration is done without concern for just that computer is not new to you but no headaches.
Otherwise you can also assign a function of the plates to any key on the keyboard.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

The performances are, no crashes, no cuts to music (unless you import songs: in this case it is better to switch to the physical plates). The scratch function and bof bof because I do not scratches but works flawless without worries or slowdowns. In short nothing to say!

OVERALL OPINION

I use the Pioneer DJS software 1601 for 3 months and I am totally satisfied. I make my own MP3 with dedicated software, I edit the TAG info with other software I use dedicated and DYS only as virtual drives (practical, less cumbersome than the physical drives and a lot cheaper!). That's my philosophy: Each software function because most of the software functions is more heavy on system resources and it is less efficient. Long ago I tried to AC Micro-software applications and nothing to do! This software won me over with its simplicity of use and the functionality and ergonomics of the CDJ players. Part mixing is certainly a little disappointing because not very comfortable (but is not this the problem of mixing with a mouse instead of his hands on a real mixer ???). The quality / price is very correct for a stamped software, developed and sold by Pioneer ProDJ. If I had to make that choice without hesitation I referrer!
