Tama Iron Cobra Double Kick Powerglide
I bought this unti to replace a cheaper tama bass pedal I had for years. The first thing I noticed was my feet felt much more capable with these pedals than before. I was able to get more out of my right foot on these than I was with another friends cheap set of double pedals. Also, instead of an "all around" mallet the Twin Cobra uses Hammer style mallets. I'm not sure exactly why, but the hammer mallets give much more ummph and projection to my Kick drum. It sounds much more solid now as opposed to using the cheap tama. The build of the units themselves is also really great. They are what appear to be steel and cast Iron which makes them fairly heavy and durable. I guess the only thing I didn't like about this unit was the cheap plastic case it came with. The case itself is strong and able to withstand a good beating, but the "clips" that keep it closed broke off within weeks. Now it won't stay closed and the only "repair" is to wrap a synch strap around it. I believe these still go for over $300 dollars new so I was very pleased with only paying $175 for a very good condition set. Even at full price, I would still have boughten them as they have brought so much life to my feet when I play drums. I never really liked playing double bass until I got these. Now I'm trying to put double bass into all these songs to my fellow engineers chagrin. I tried the DW dual pedal and that was really nice too but I got a better deal on the Cobras so I bought those. I would definitely make the same choice again.

Tama Iron Cobra Double Kick Powerglide
Iron Cobra pedals (w/double kick power glide hardware) are among the best bass drum pedals on the market.  I have never owned these personally but I have played them frequently and have extreme respect for their capabilities.  They are all around great pedals and I see them all the time.  TAMA has long been known to have extremely solid hardware, but the iron cobras really blew me away.  I was never a super double bass heavy player, but most of my friends that play double bass all the time all use iron cobras.

The first thing I have got to say about these is that they are very smooth.  I am not exactly sure how they worked it out, because all the springs and connectors look more or less standard, but the pedal control is immense.  They are probably the best feeling pedals I have ever played, with both high and low tension being very comfortable.  They are easy to adjust and quick to set up.  Most models come with a case, which is extremely convenient, especially with the double pedal.  There is also a holder for the tuning key underneath the footboard, which is minor but still cool.  In my experience, the Iron Cobras are more prevalent in more progressive rock or metal genres of music.  This is probably due to the prevalence of double bass work in these songs, but also the fact that the beaters on these pedals tend to create a more compressed sound.

The only reason why this pedal may be at a slight disadvantage is that it has slightly shorter footboards than the axis long boards or the high end pearl pedals.  If you are looking for a longer footboard, it should be no surprise that the Axis Long board may be the better choice.  Other than that, the Iron Cobra really pushes the envelope of great pedals.

-How long have you use it?

I use the pedals for a little over a year and this, Manir intensive!

- What is the particular feature you like best and least?

There are several features that make this truly indispensable accessory pedals, the lgret the precision in the feet, strength etc etc ... The only small "inconvnient", the ds to the springs creaking .... But it's really to find a inconvniant if I do not see ...

- Have you tried many other models before acqurir?

j'hsitais between it and the one gibraltar Janus, then my choice was made by chance on the one I have to say ... the "prestige TAMA" certainly influenced me. ...
- How do you report qualitprix?

Then it sr, the pedals is a great quality ... sr But it is one of the most pedals Chréa (Axis Sonor and cards) although this time o j'cris she probably price drop ... When I bought it it cost 370 and instantly it's a bit painful to such a sum dbourser but frankly your exact worth the blow ...

- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...

Yes hsiter without a moment!

This pedal is a wonder,
I then used the three years of intensive Fasone ...
Do I like most is the accuracy, phenomenal power and conformity of use, I do not find a weak spot for drummers of metal and other music requiring power and accuracy.
-I have tried many model before and I say, doi ke is the iron cobra me the most, after it's personal but compared to the pearl ..... they are even comparable pa. ... the Eliminator cams PLASTIC see the face of foutage! Ocun sensitivity, no long time .... for much more!! its all thanks to their pub ...
Exellent value for money, see the best.
I would do without hesitation that choice .... tama is a mark of prestige, reputation is second to none ....

for the quality price ratio, c on c m cherchan expensive though it is found a 350euro nine and is the primary competitor there is little to no love for my pearl and interchangeable cam system, I find ca zero and a little gadget!

Like other people with a possible view, this is my opinion too PDAL CHRE for what it is.

IT CAN BE USED I for over a year, no worries, it is much better than the Pearl p100TW of my debut.

I expect she died and I would cluck enough to see what is the best. For the same price.
For the price of this iron cobra, I think I will take a pearl eliminator plutt ... or a registered plutt unknown sub o will the quality of materials and not the pub for the image of Joey Jordison or Lars Ulrish :-)

1) Global Notice

A good pedal overall, but watch out for a quick game more accurately choose the rolling glide! That is Designed to play up a dish made possible attention!
The only difference between the rolling glide and power glide is the shape of the gear ... I am also usin two wooden gable form to find the perfectly sewn CHARACTERISTICS a rolling glide and Making it better for me, having a quick game often tip or heel-toe, the rponse is more controllable than with gear power glide.

What is the particular feature you like best and least?

Pros: very successful aesthetical, trs trs trs SETTINGS many, the mechanical well studied.

Cons: I used this pedal 2 years (before I had the old MODEL refourguer since) I must say there are several things wrong: The biggest weak point of the gimbal to transmition trs wears quickly, with two joints extrmites choppent enough of the game which takes up valuable precidion pedal for the left ... I managed to ratraper the factory cut the puck in the hyper-fine grinding, but c not everyone just do it.
Another thing I had to replace some bearings (those between the base and the base) because the original ones have pts ...

This costs the same pedal took a pearl eliminator so it is too expensive in my opinion

- With the exprience, you do again this choice? ...
No I would opt for a pearl eliminator, because for the same price was a mechanic at least comparable, set of 4 nuts interchangeable transmition chain (factor for the comfort / style of play) over the bat has four sides Pearl different is better ...

I put 7 anyway because it made me a lot of services but I have spent many hours at rgler / OPG also .... so if the chopper can inspect many of OCAS that there have not play at either level or the gimbal bearing ... if you want to buy a new private-se c pearl better!
