Seagull Coastline Cedar GTPublished on 12/15/10 at 18:52
The Seagull Coastline Cedar Gloss Top is a dreadnought acoustic guitar made in Canada. Seagull is a little known company out of Quebec but they make some of the finest guitars for the price that I've found. It's made out of, like the name states, cedar with the top consisting of a gloss finish. The guitar is just an acoustic, although if you're buying it new you do get an option of adding pick ups.

    UTILIZATION

The Seagull Coastline Cedar Gloss Top has an overall great feel as it's a very easy guitar to play. I find that most of the Seagull guitars that I've played share a similar easy feel. Since it doesn't have any electronics in the stock version, the playability is all you …

    SOUNDS

I'm a pretty big fan of the way this guitar sounds overall, however I do need to start by saying that the specific model of this guitar that I've played and recorded with is tuned high in a Nashville style tuning. For those who don't know, what this means is that the upper strings are strung with strings an octave up using 12 string guitar strings. This can be done in a few ways, but traditionally the lowest four are an octave up. It's really a great sound and is perfect for adding a little life to your guitar tones. This guitar is perfect for adapting it to Nashville tuning and is one of my favorite acoustic guitars to record with.

    OVERALL OPINION

The Seagull Coastline Cedar Gloss Top is a really awesome mid level guitar with a price tag that will astound you. This is a little bit short of a top tier guitar, but with this kind of price you'd expect it to be a good amount more. I haven't played the guitar in standard tuning, but I can't imagine that all that much would before different beyond the end sound. You definitely need to know about Seagull and the Coastline Cedar if you're an acoustic guitar player.
