The Taylor 610 dreadnought acoustic guitar was made in the USA and is strictly an acoustic guitar, not an acoustic/electronic. This guitar has the look of a classic Martin dreadnought guitar, with strikingly similar sound and feel. Taylor makes some great acoustic guitars, and the 610 is a prime example of their work.

UTILIZATION

The neck of the Taylor 610 is easy on the fingers and is really easy to play all around the neck. It has the standard dreadnought look and feel and isn't too heavy at all. It is extremely easy to get a good sound from this guitar - just pick it up and play! It has a great inherent tone and if you know what you are doing in terms of playing, not much has to be done to achieve that sound that this guitar is capable of producing.

SOUNDS

The Taylor 610 is great for just about any type of music, but I use it mostly for folk, rock, pop, and country music. The sound is full of life and extremely vibrant, while still being full bodied with the great low end that you would expect from a dreadnought guitar. I have only used this guitar for recording, but is suitable for live shows or for use in the studio.

OVERALL OPINION

I've been using the Taylor 610 acoustic guitar for about four years and it is one of the better acoustic guitars that I have played. While Martin is primarily known for making the best dreadnought guitars out there, the 610 is absolutely comparable in both overall tone quality and easy feel. The full bodied tone makes it great for getting a huge acoustic guitar while recording. The price of the Taylor 610 makes it a guitar for experienced players and professionals, as it is probably too expensive for the amateur. This is a great guitar for someone looking for a long term acoustic guitar that they can use for years to come.
