Mapex Saturn Series

Mapex SaturnPublished on 08/26/06 at 15:00
Hi, I am from the Czech Republic and I've been playing drums for about 15 years and I've just bought the Mapex Saturn kit. I like almost all kinds of music but I think the jazz style influenced me most.

I bought it from a local drum shop for about $1350 (the bassdrum and 4 tom-toms, no hardware except for tom mounts).

I like everything. They look amazing and sound even better. I just had to replace the tom heads which were very bad, I put the Remo Ambassador Coated on and it just sounds great. The tom-toms really sing, have a warm sound, and the bassdrum has the typical deep, punch sound. Very versatile. Can be loud when you need it. I've Played top lines of the Yamaha, Pearl, Sonor,...…

The tom-toms really sing, have a warm sound, and the bassdrum has the typical deep, punch sound. Very versatile. Can be loud when you need it. I've Played top lines of the Yamaha, Pearl, Sonor, Tama, but the Saturns really got me, even though Mapex is not a real brand for me, but they make good sounding drums for less money than the others.

Probably just the tom mounting system. It's a bit hard to adjust, needs strong arms. But it's heavy, very sturdy and it will last. Don't know about pedals and stands. And of course the original heads - just crap - but that's nothing.

It's all made very well. Before putting new heads on I was quite afraid of the bearing edges, but they are perfect. And the high-gloss finish is also very nice, I have them in transparent black and some black burst over it and I have to say I've never seen more beautiful drums, maybe just exotic DWs.

Great drums for a great price. They are versatile and great for gigs. But you can use them in the studio as well and you won't be disapointed, that's for sure. So if you want something special and don't want to spend money on DWs, go for a Mapex.

Battery trs high quality.
4 folds of North Saddle amricain first choice for an optimal sound DEFINITIONS in all frquences
2 plies of walnut (knowing that the wood of fruit trees are scarce, so the apprcie prsence this lment, indicative of the level of quality of the instrument).
I hsit twenty seconds with the Yamaha Oak Custom, until a tap on ft, and the more the shadow of a doubt (sr good well there was also Mapex Orion, but you have to be reasonable ...).
In other words, the toms avoinent sec (one small phrase that zikos understand and that is worth a thousand words).
The bass drum is its major asset, simply incomparable.

The Snare, like the rest of the set is beautiful and sounds really dlivre Varis, as well rglages sr, and depending on the location of the strike (in the middle of skin, ct circle or rim shot, nothing to see).
Toms prfre I do not over or I m'taler m'arrte more.
I possde this drumkit in blue sparkle (glitter), it is just beautiful. I got it for my 1500 thanks Fidler my music store but it turns around 1700-1800 plutt normally (it's worth, the quality is paid).
I would do this choice a thousand times. A gal price, Mapex offers now a much suprieure quality than other brands.

In short: I possde for two days, but I had tried before dj. I do not know what to tell you from walking around in your shop prfre to test one, it will be magical.

I bought a Mapex Saturn series in June 2008. A drumkit of occas' which dates from 94.
For me the best deal I made for a very long time!
Maple drumkit while (unlike the new Mapex Saturn that have a fold in walnut) The sound is really good: Powerful, well-defined, round and warm.
The Argus is very low because it is a series that became more and was replaced by another, which makes a drumkit collection in an unbeatable price for this quality was! it should be noted that although it remains below the quality of a Mapex Orion, the Mapex Saturn is a high-end drumkit!

The only reason I did not put the 10/10 is that it is difficult to suddenly find extra toms in the color you want. …
