Published on 07/25/12 at 05:18My Tama Swingstar in 1984 and has been used extensively. Very solid, no breakage problem. I do not know if newer models are identical.
Before this I had a ... Asama I believe, so obviously the Tama is better. since I have tried many things, but without necessarily remember the names.
As drummer (very) amateur, I have no definitive opinion on the issue, it suits me to a very occasional use. The sound is not breathtaking, but it's still much better than the batteries first prize. Widely.
I like the stem of toms, very solid and easy to adjust.
If I had to buy another, I think I'll go see a little above (but we still want "a little above", is not it ...?).
