I bought this set about a year ago at Guitar Center. I paid about 1,200 for it. Ive been looking for a durable drumset that looked and sounded good. I've found it. This drumset is amazing

This drumset has one of the best birch sounds i have ever heard. The 12 ply birch shells give it a warmer tone then maple. The finish on it is very strong, over the past year ive gotten very few scratches, and a some just rub off even if it was badly scratched. The small depth of the 2 mounted toms is great for mounting them close to the snare and bass drum, leaving less room to miss the heads.
The starcast mounting system is another great invention by Tama. It holds my toms firm and in place.

No complaints

This drumset is made out of 12 ply 100% birch wood. It is a very warm sounding set with nice attack. The 3 toms are suspended on the Tama Starcast mounting system which is just amazing. No big extra holes to fit a mounting bracket into, it's all on the rims. The bass has a very deep but punchy sound.

This is very high quality set, if you are looking for a moderatly expensive drumset with great sound, durability and price this is what your looking for. Tama has done it again with the new line of Starclassic Setups
