« Yamaha Stage Custom Standard »
Published on 10/27/02 at 15:00I was looking for a more professional sound, so i turned to yamaha. I got a wood finish, and payed about 900 for the 5 piece with the YESS mount system (i think all stage customs have it).
Very nice, hollow, and loud sound. The bass is compared to the deepness and loudness of a Tama, the steel snare is very nice, with very nice rimshots, and the toms have a very nice pitch.
Not much. The standard heads are U2's, and it is highly recommended something else. Right when i bought the set, i got some ebony heads, and the set sounds awesome.
I thought the set would dent, and scratch easier because of the wood finish, but it didnt. Its just like and other Laquer finish.
An affordable, professional, great sounding set. I love it.
