It is a broadcast processor AGC wide band, 4-band compressor, limiter / clipper and following option installed with a high-frequency limiter rare as this option is very expensive, while the CNC.

UTILIZATION

The processor has factory presets covering a wide type of use covering the country, the urban, rock, TV and other already sound great and from which you can create your own preset that will be internal memory.
You have to be a professional and or taking the time to read the manual and use extensively the machine before filling draw sounds very good qualities.
For factory presets, you must first set the "global" preset 1 which contains all the common parameters such as input / output gain, filter, input activation or digital output, etc ...
The manual is comprehensive enough. At Aphex is still serious.

SOUND QUALITY

The volume control and points are well controlled without adverse effects on the hearing so obviously set.
You can choose the number of bands that will be processed by the compressor. One, two, three or four belts moving the separation filters.
We can shape and color create a sound as choosing desired cutoff frequencies, adjusting the release time of each band as well as the output gain bands that will power the limiting stage and very low processor good quality too.
This processor is not made to sound hyper dense, flat and cold as the last broadcast DSP technology. For all the sound can be really dense with warmth of analog and especially without any latency. You can use Direct tuner back to control your vocal interventions in real time.
Feature you can insert a specific process as reverb, excite or other between the AGC and multiband compressor.

OVERALL OPINION

I tested the 2020 MK1 that was not at the top, including the AGC not terrible (worse than just Compellor and very complicated to set) and also the time of the attacks multiband compressor which tended to smacking sounds in the wrong sense.
I tested two upgraded in 2020 MK3 with a basic and a limiter with optional high frequency preemphasis / deemphasis of 50 or 75 us, and then the sound is very good in both cases.
The model with the HF limiter allows control points to perfection and can change the tone treble soft gloss.
This new device is very expensive it is. But our day time it is affordable and useful both in the studio, radio, home studio or radioweb.
In addition it's solid!
When compared to products such as Omnia and Orban (except 3FMT) the sound will be less strong, but audio quality beyond reproach. This is almost the stereo radio.
In short, a product of better quality, and relative loudness, that what is said here and there.

The only negative is the original fan that makes a lot of noise and does not allow its use in a living room for example cooling. Hence the ability to connect a headset to listen in front is the incoming sound or sound treated and very good audio quality. However, it is possible to replace the original fan with a quieter model, which then allows to use it in a quiet environment.
