Audio-Technica introduces its AT5040 cardioid condenser mic.

Designed as a vocal microphone, the AT5040 is designed to feature a smooth top end with controlled sibilance. Large-diaphragm characteristics and fast transient response also make it suited for recording acoustic instruments such as piano, guitar, strings and saxophone.

Features:

Four rectangular diaphragms (2 micron) function together, providing a combined surface area twice that of a standard circular one-inch diaphragm
Internal shock mounting decouples the capsule from the microphone body
Housing of aluminium and brass
Included custom AT8480 shock mount
Hard-shell carrying case with die-cut foam compartments
