Aria Pro II Magna MAB-20

Probably made in Japan, but no apparent indication on bass. Year 1996-97
A maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and 22 frets. The alder body it seems.
A micro PB side handle and a JB bridge side.
1 volume for each pickup and a general tone.
Regarding the handle, it is rather thin, easy and enjoyable. Rather like JB.
The bridge is kind of bent sheet metal found on entry-level Fender and other basses. It's been a bit "cheap, not noble," but it plays its role.
Overall the whole is more than well.
Mine is white from head to foot, except the button of course. The hardware is black, and holds well over the years. Everything is stamped Aria, and the mechanics are a little play

UTILIZATION

Yes the handle is nice and easy.
Access to the tweeter is as easy as on many other basses. Nothing to clarify. There are still a cut "ergonomic" shaped valley, but hey I walk often.
The advantage is that it is really lightweight, less than 3.5 kg.

SOUNDS

I usually play with a Pandora magic box and headphone. It is versatile enough to please me. I also have a trace elliot amp which makes it good. But I'm not pro enough to judge. Bp with a microphone and jb was a bit of all types of sound. I do not hit the strings with my little thumb. Readily obtained sound very heavy and dull as well clear treble. And with three button settings are not too complicated.

OVERALL OPINION

I play bass for six months and I use this aria for 6 months, then step back and little comparison. But it suits me perfectly. Maybe a little adjustment by a luthier would do him good.
it makes me want to play and light weight is rather a good point. Very good value for money, I bought used and after changing the knobs that sizzled horribly, the result is good. Repeat the same choice, I do not know is not a masterpiece either, but fIn this range is well.
