B.C. Rich Warlock (Platinum)
Published on 12/12/01 at 15:00I bought this guitar new from a local new and used guitar shop. I paid exactly 428.00 for this BC Rich Warlock.
The look of any BC Rich is superior to any other guitar. Its a escape from the common Fender style guitar.
I have found quite a few problems with this guitar since I purchased it. I've always found the pickups weak, with the pick-up selector making minimal change in the sound. The paintjob is merely a sticker put on the face of the guitar (green diamonds). The most major problem I found was in the neck. It is common to hear some rattling at the head of the guitar, usually fixed just by tightening the nut lock. I have now narrowed the problem to the trus rod. Looking down the...…

It is common to hear some rattling at the head of the guitar, usually fixed just by tightening the nut lock. I have now narrowed the problem to the trus rod. Looking down the cavity and shaking the guitar you can see the trus rod has somehow become loose. Are not the cavities for trus rods supposed to be only big enough to fit the rod?
I don't find this guitar to be very durable. After a year of having this guitar I found the rattling in the neck, and also replaced the pickups. The volume knob was scratching after the first month I owned the guitar.
I will always like the look of BC Rich, but the quality is poor. Maybe they've gotten better with their new guitars but the BC Rich Warlock Platinum I purchased was only worth the price of the wood it was cut from. If anyone else prefers the look of these guitars to others, buy a solid piece of basswood and cut the design yourself.
