« Really nice! »

Signature Billy Cox
4 strings
2 JB pickups and a micro active PJ Custom made
color sunburst ash body
Silver maple neck
pearl inlays on the handle
chrome hardware
switch passive / active
3 dual-use knobs (tone and Volun)
24 frets
It's a bass that really gave me the urge to buy as soon as I saw it. I have 7 years, I find it still fun and nothing has moved on. Very good finish, no paint bavage and beautiful selection of wood (ash and maple found on some U.S. Fender model of good quality). And frankly, compared to an original form of pale copy of jazz bass or precision.
UTILIZATION
Contrary to the opinion of the mine below is just the beginning, it is certain that if the neck and the tailpiece was not set correctly it could lead to nothing!!
The neck is especially nice, quite late, and access to the latest hoops is no difficulty with its marked notch.
I play both finger, that pick. But watch out for the slap, as there are three microphones me I had to demean a little micro precision not to be generated, there is little loss of sound on this micro precision because it takes really good vibration of the strings.
It is not too heavy, unless my OLP MM3 low a stingray.
SOUNDS
It easily gets a good sound thanks to the potentiometer of each microphone. The range of sound is really wide, configuration 3 pickups has a lot to! 2 jazz bass and a precision.
I played with various rock styles (fusion, metal ..), but also jazz, variety ...
The output level is really high with the active position, and softer in the passive position.
Although the system consisting of a volume and tone knob can even sometimes be annoying especially if the knobs are poorly lubricated both running at the same time (so it must have been the instrument correctly adjusted for purchase!).
For me the knobs have never broken yet I've had seven years and I've done concerts with, in good and poor! Maybe on some there was a failure ...
OVERALL OPINION
I am a bass player and bass player training, this bass is really nice to play!
I have 7 years and I used it for concerts, rehearsals, but also records, and she never fails. I still use it but in addition to my U.S. Fender Jazz bass and my OLP MM3 custom.
This is a truly versatile bass, with a good range of sound! In addition it has a nice shape and original then what more!
