    Epiphone EB-0

I brought my bass from a local guitar shop, it was my second bass. I’ve only been playing for 7 months now but I knew that I already needed a better bass. The EB-0 caught my eye because of the size and color. It was also recommended to me by my uncle as it was his first guitar when he started playing.
The guitar cost me just under £200.

Because the scale is smaller so are the fret’s this makes more technical playing easier. The neck is also very smooth so you can slide well. It has a very nice tone that is lower than on most basses. Also the input jack on the bass is on the front, with most guitars the jack is on the side and so when you put down your guitar it may damage the lead or the guitar.

The tuning pegs are too large and so it is easily put out of tune if you lean it against something, they are also very sensitive and takes some time to get used to. Because it only has a single pickup it is not very loud and has a smaller option of tones to choose from. The hook for the strap is also on the back of the guitar meaning that it slips of easily. because of of the location of the pickup it is hard to play slap and pop on this guitar.

The guitar is very well made and every thing works well. The pickup is very securely fastened and does not jutter or move. It is also easy to adjust the screws on it to make the bridge higher or lower to change the action this is very useful. All The knobs are clearly labeled. The head and tuning pegs are very well made as well and do not buzz like many guitars do after a certain amount of time.

Very nice to play, sounds good loud, fun and easy to play but if you want to play funk then do not buy this guitar.

Musicians friend, $210. I like Gibson guitars, so I decided my first bass would be an old Gibson SG style... well, then I saw how expensive they were. I found out Epiphone made new ones, so I bought my EB-0

Looks good, High quality. All mahogany. good adjustable bridge, growling sound. Short scale

You can't slap! the string slams into the pickup, and just makes a dull thud. It is impossible to lower the pickup. This limits playing style greatly. It has a bolt on neck, but I kind of like that rather than set in.

Good Mahogany. The tuners stay in tune, no problem with electrics. Slim neck, relatively. nothings gone wrong with it

Don't buy it if you like to slap. I like very much to slap, but the growling sound of this Bass is great. I really like the feel of this bass, I'm buying another bass, probably an LTD, so I can slap.

Bought at local music store (Haight Ashbury Music) in Bay Area for $239. I am an experienced Guitarist (25 yrs) and wanted to learn bass along with my 12 year old daughter. I do expect to use this bass for some small and medium gigs. This is a short scale bass (~30") which makes it easier to play - and it plays and wears like a guitar.

Solid mahogany neck and body with nice finish. Looks good. Rosewood fretboard (I prefer, no shellac to wear off. Pots (vol and tone) work well. Good, sturdy adjustable bridge. Heavy duty tuners. Neck is straight as a laser. Big sidwinder humbucker pickup OK, not exceptional, but allows screw adjustments of each pickup to balance volume between strings. …

Good fat tone. Tone control has definite impact from skinny to fat. Good action. Fairly light. Easy to play/hold sitting or standing.

Wrestling with getting all the buzz out of the strings (E - 3-5 frets, and G, 4th fret only). Frets are even, but still buzz. May give a bit of bow to the neck to fix. I hear short string basses have looser strings which may account for buzz on E string. I can eliminate buzz by raising bridge - but I want as low an action as possible. Single pickup. Would prefer two - but this is a cost issue. A second could easily be added later. Although neck is rosewood, it is painted/stained. No case with unit. No hard case (with exact fit) available. Gig bag available.

Bridge, nut, neck, body, tuners all good. There is no binding on the neck - but this is a minor cosmetic thing to me. Mahogony body & neck looks much better than your standard painted bass - this is a definite one up in my book. Finish is great. I play an old Gibson SG and this is nearly as good. The pickup seems a little rougher than my SGs. Single piece neck not as good as Laminate neck on my SG, but it is straight and does have the lifetime warranty. Generally looks and feels like a much more expensive instrument -except for the sidewinder pickup (my opinion).

Single pickup. Short scale (has pros and cons) great player Excellent wood/body/neck. Solid hardware. and allows for adjustments. Great price/value. Needs hard case designed for it. Watch for buzzing. Be prepared to re-set up instrument. Try different basses. best short scale bass anywhere near this price range.

    Bass "Made in China"
Short scale, 20 frets, SG shape
A micro level of the handle

The short scale seems right to start, and I do, but (only) 20 boxes end up being somewhat annoying, personally, I would have preferred to have three or four more ...
Square Nut, be careful if you go back to the 17th to play a G # on the small rope, I already opened by hand at that point in rehearsal ... You just have to be careful, but you get used

    UTILIZATION

The handle is very easy, normal is a short scale, I fear, however, my next bass will it handle a normal, and is likely to slip me a few finger cramps before I get used to ...

    UTILIZATION

The handle is very easy, normal is a short scale, I fear, however, my next bass will it handle a normal, and is likely to slip me a few finger cramps before I get used to ...
The last frets are accessible, however, I have some difficulty with the last of the E string ... Not very used, so it will be a little f ** t
So, in weight and its distribution, I can not ...
As mentioned previously, the head looks once strapped, I really very hard to keep playing right up: s
The bass itself seems to be very heavy compared with other models in the same price range ...
The use is still quite easy

    SOUNDS

This bass suits my style of music, never seriously tested other basses (except for the pids, see above), I can satisfy myself that the game appears well on his finger, the slap also
I play a marshall 30 watt, it's all good, at least for that price, you can not blame
Only minor drawbacks, some notes near the 11th a box stand his huge, while the F # is slender, transparent ...
The tone seems to be connected knob any connections, turn it does not change the sound a bit unfortunate

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 4 months and a half, I'm happy overall, the use is simple, fast, a few drawbacks, however, slightly above cloud the big picture ...
I have not tried other basses before buying, so no comparable as possible
The price / quality ratio is still very good, no doubt, to 140 euros, I can not complain, far from it

With the same money, I certainly would do this choice, it is still low to begin
If I had more money at the time of purchase, I would have chosen a model can be a little better in cort or ibanez, but it was not, and I do not regret my purchase far from it

A nice bass made in China type SG (an imitation of the namesake of Gibson) by slaves minors to 300 meters below sea level! (Nan j'déconne I dunno ... but it is in China!)
The bridge is screwed securely to a rosewood body.
The neck is rosewood and is also screwed to the body (4 screws) so as strong as the bridge. I would say it is reassuring given the price and source ^ ^
The key is mahogany and there are 20 Cells in medium sized frets.
The electronics are simple (ist) with a humbucker neck pickup with two knobs: Tone and Volume essentials but no more.
The bare minimum for a bass at this price.

The bare minimum for a bass at this price.

    UTILIZATION

For starters, I'm a guitarist, so I'm not really picky about the comfort of the handle and it is not very pleasant to play first, but we made it good.
We get some vibration when played "unplugged" but not that much after all. We feel the vibrations move the handle to the body when playing seated, it's nice after all! ^ ^
The body is type SG (EB-0). The availability of the latest boxes is very good. The worst dandy support the thesis that the last frets are not readily accessible, but I would reply that the bass (at first) is not made for playing dazzling solos types Jimmy Page, and if that is what they look, they put themselves on the guitar ...
Finally, and considering the price, it is obviously a low-type "Plug'n Play": one does not spend three hours to masturbate two poor knobs to find the perfect sound, it's still an Epiphone to 215 balls .
So the sound is good ...

    SOUNDS

    Aaaaaaaah ... The sound!
It is perfect for my style of music!
I plug it directly on the console and I play. It made a low for the Rock and Punk.
It sounds very raw and reacts to the excellent game to pick, the more I use it with a guitar pedal Electro-Harmonix Germanium 4 and it gives her the Mothörhead. Obviously it is an epiphone for 200 rounds, not a hand Rickenbacker manufactured in the USA.
It also fits very well with his fingersNo sometimes smooth and sometimes very root. The slap is a little less efficient, but it's not a bass funk.
I'm really addicted to his Overdrive / Picks: I get an sound very threatening and very heavy. I love it!

Ultimately it was a sound very Rock. No frills, given the general qualities, it will not play with the Jazz ... but if you do not believe me, just try.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use it for some months and it's osmosis! I feel like I have ripped the seller ^ ^
I tried another type bass Bass Cruiser. It was heavier and the microphones were not adapting to the game to pick. Since I am a guitarist, was the condition Sinequanone for purchase.
What I like most is the sound more than adequate, and of course the sling of the instrument.
What I do not like is the thickness of the varnish which harms the general appearance and the sleeve a little too "lumberjack." And finally, it's still very Rock = P
The price / quality ratio is good enough for a bass typed (it seems ...)
With the experience I would wait a bit to buy the power that EB-3 contained an additional microphone in the bridge position and a pickup selector ... Out of curiosity ...
