Fender Precision Bass Japan Serie E

Bass made in Japan between 1984 and 1986.

Maple neck with 20 frets, a single micro Precision Bass.

No switch (a single mic!), Two knobs, one tone and one volume. Simple and effective.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice, the notes fall easily under the fingers, since the height of strings, this bass is played with great ease and without fatigue.

For ergonomics, form everybody knows it's the same since the 60s. For weight, count about 4.5 kg.

I have a little trouble on access to acute.

And when it is to get a good sound easy, the answer is yes.

SOUNDS

The tone knob gives a well rounded for the blues and jazz, as a more incisive and hard rock.

I play on the RBW300 Laney, a Hartke HA3500 with a 410XL cabinet, SWR, Genz Benz and I am delighted to get a very defined and effective.

For cons, I find that the microphone precisely this lack some gain in output compared to other micro of the same type.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for more than a month and a half of hard times 80 (Guns N 'Roses and Slash ...)

Wanting a Precision bass sound, I tried several Mexican in this price range but there is no photo, the Japanese are very well finished and a low of 25, no crackling, the knobs are effective, no play in the mechanical, in short, this bass is excellent.

That may be why there are few for sale second hand.
