Found this bass on ebay..when I got it was less than 6 months old and had been played sparingly. Got it for $395

Great sound!! This bass has more settings than I have time to reach down and switch while playing. 2 big fat humbucking G&L pickups sound beautiful thus far. I'm running this bass through a Yorkville amp that I picked up dirt cheap. I have friends who play Musicman, Warwick, Fender ect.. and when they play this bass they don't want to put it down.

No real complaints...the action was a little high upon purchase and it needed to be adjusted, but it could have been the guy I got it from and not the factory.

Swamp Ash body with Rosewood fingerboard
    G&L Saddle Lock bridge, G&L Tri-Tone active/passive electronics, 3-way mini-toggle pickup selector, series/parallel mini-toggle, preamp control mini-toggle (off/on/on with high end EQ boost)

If I had to do it over again, I would go as far as to pay full factory price ($1200) for this bass. Sweet!

not really dug nor too low, the anti tune what!
I ba I like this type of sound, but lacks a bit of roundness in the bass to my taste, at least if you wanted to add, we could not with the settings available so I put that 9 / 10 if it sounds when even death

    OVERALL OPINION

I recently but I already made the rounds
already said what I liked most and least
yes I tried stingray 4 and 5, fender precision deluxe us (which remains for me the best of the best but not the same price), the value for money is unbeatable in my humble opinion
yes am very happy with this purchase for a bass that can go anywhere and sounds of death and a very low cost 650 euros! is left speechless

This is a USA-Made bass that is the epitome of Leo Fender's creations, The Precision, Jazz, and Stingray. This bass can come across a bit intimidating at first. The ultimate amount of tonal control, the vast array of sounds that the L-2000 can exude are staggering. As usual, G&L craftsmanship eclipses their Fender counterparts, with perfect fit and finish. This bass is Alder, with a Hard Rock Maple neck and the option of either a Rosewood or Maple Fingerboard. Standard nut width is 1 3/4 Inch, but other widths are available in custom orders. The electronics, however, are where these basses shine. G&L, Made in California Magnetic Field humbucking pickups are quite possibly the hottest pickups available in a bass today. the massive array of tones are controlled by a 3-way mini-toggle pickup selector, series/parallel mini-toggle, preamp control mini-toggle (off/on/on with high end EQ boost). Tuners are G&L Ultra Lites and the bridge is a G&L Saddle Lock with chrome-plated brass saddles. The G&L Bridge locks down during set-up, allowing you to maintain set-up of the bridge longer.

    UTILIZATION

This bass does not come easily for most users. It is very complex and difficult to use. Basics are easy, but dialing it in for your own tone is a bit more difficult. All the frets are easily accessible and this bass will do exceptionally well in nearly any musical style. I have toured with mine in country bands and used it to record with hard rock/metal bands. The L2k is able to go from a modern bass tone to Precision Bass to Jazz Bass to Stingray easily. When you figure it out, this bass becomes second nature and having the seemingly endless amount of tone at your fingertips definitely enhances your playing.

    SOUNDS

All of my bass reviews are done through the following:

    Gallien-Krueger 1001 RBII
    Gallien-Krueger 700 RB
    Ampeg SVT 4
    Ampeg SVT Classic

Again, this bass has the ability to sound PHENOMENAL in ANY setting, if you take the time to learn to use it.

    OVERALL OPINION

G&L makes an incredible product. A lot of handmade elements in the bass and a lot of bass here for the money. There is nothing I can find about this bass to say in a negative fashion except that, you MUST spend a good amount of time with it to find your sounds, this is not plug and play here. Once you figure it out, it will be extremely easy. Highly recommend this bass to anyone needing a bass to do everything! Craftsmanship, attention to detail, and fit/finish are impeccable.

    Leo would be proud.

The L2000 is a low form Fender Precision designed by Leo Fender and George Fullerton (hence the name brand: G & L George & Leo), which has two humbuckers (type Musicman Stingray) and offers settings following:

    - 1 knob for low frequency
    - 1 knob for treble
    - 1 volume knob
    - A switch 3 positions: passive, active and active-boost acute
    - A 2 position switch for phase micro
    - A 3 position switch for the micro scale.

The handle is, too, like Precision Bass, that is fine with 22 frets. Everything is very well finished with varnish carefully chosen, solid wood, and an electronic unstoppable.

The model I have is manufactured and assembled in the United States.

The model I have is manufactured and assembled in the United States.

Only downsides: no mechanical double d'huile and on my model, a chronic problem at the jack (I'm the third)

    UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice, although a little stiff, and you walk easily, except in the latest boxes, or the body shape of the bass is a little embarrassing.

The weight of the bass is slightly elevated, but not asbolument not disabling.

    SOUNDS

The big highlight of the low (what motivated my purchase) is its incredible versatility. Thanks to conbinaisons very well thought of electronics, you can switch between the slamming of the Red Hot Blood Sugar Sex Magik, to his great round with lots of infrabass the U2 Joshua Tree, through a sonoritées of many diverse and varied, and the whole, keeping color and character all its own.

I play on an Ashdown Mag 300 that illuminates all the frequencies and colors that I like, even in the studio and I used as a pre-amp and EQ.

The only flaw of this electronic gain a little too hard in the bass, which do not saturate some preamps. But it is a defect that is easily corrected either by decreasing the pulling rope or lowering the knob a little low.

    OVERALL OPINION

I use this bass for ten years, and I do not sell it unlike almost any other I've had and I've rediscovered every time I changed my amp.

I blame him for the handle a little stiff at its disposal, but it is a meager price to pay for the sound that comes out of this gear.

    SOUNDS

It is suitable for virtually any style I pense.Les sounds are very different notemment thanks to all possible settings directly on the basse.Je played it with an Ampeg head and it makes really no mal.On can get full of the different , the very sound of the slamming bass (yes, really!) by switching or turning a knob right.
I prefer the sounds it sounds approximating a Jazz bass but can be a hint of personality and versatility I think.
As against that I did not like about this bass and motivated that I claim is that everything electronic form a real factory and it's been the buzz of that one does not touch the cordes.Etant manic tres tres ca me quickly inflated and I think it's a shame because everything else is really great.

    OVERALL OPINION

I've used for 6 months before selling it to buy a Warwick.Ce I loved most was the sound (really excellent, missing can be a bit low but otherwise perfect) and the violin : the body in one piece with sunburst ash was really magnifique.Regarder the back of my bass was a treat each time.
I have not tried before many model since it was my first t low premium, just a Jazz bass U.S. really not given me a good impression (requires adjustment?).
The report price is quite good quality but with the Tribute Series and the lack of difference between the two series ca not worth too much unless you are suddenly demanding.
I'd love to get it back so I had these p ***** buzz!
Apart from some brief small defects it's very good bass.
