The handle is very late, the action is (relatively) low. The instrument is trslger, well balanced. A delight for the back! The Gnrale ergonomics are good. As for the sound, it's plug and play. We adhre the roots sounds proposes the beast or not.
This is the kind of bass that gives the best of itself on all-tube amp (Bassman 100 siverface in my case), and flat files ropes. Corollary: it will be difficult and against nature to ask him a modern sound. However, in its domain, perfect for jazz, blues, pop, ... For the slap: we forget.
The neck pickup is round, the bridge pickup reminds Gainsbourg's Melody Nelson, the mix of the two Ramne some treble the original roundness. All this with his "rope machine" especially at short scales. It is very close to a Rivoli piphone or a Fender Coronado.
FYI, it does use by bassist of small faces, and occasionally plays today by bassist Paul Weller.
The H27 is a model of versatility, but if you want a short scale to its roots, why not? The odds are very reasonable for an instrument of the sixties, it is rather rare in France ... I like!
