Bought it 2nd hand off Ebay for £205, a complete bargin if you consider the retail price is around £360!

First of all, it looks stunning!!! when i first saw it, i instantly fell in love cause the shape & finish are just so smooth & still maintains a very dominant feel. In certain lights, the colour of the Bass changes colour, in low level lighting, it appears a black marble colour & then a purple/blackberry colour in high level lighting which i think is puka! On the technical side, the sound you can get from the bass is just brilliant! various tonal adjustments mean its a bass to suit various styles of music, & one final comment is that the bass has a Neutrik locking jack, meaning you dont…

On the technical side, the sound you can get from the bass is just brilliant! various tonal adjustments mean its a bass to suit various styles of music, & one final comment is that the bass has a Neutrik locking jack, meaning you dont have to worry bout accidently unplugging your lead as it can only be unplugged by pushing a button (has come in usefull on various occasions).

there honestly isn't anything i don't like about the bass, true enough when i recieved it, there was a bit of fret buss around the middle part of the neck but a quick adjustment to the truss rod sorted this. Some people say that the pickups are a bit weak, but this could just be a case of needing to bring the pickups closer to the strings. Personally I think the pickups are top notch.

Its an Ibanez so immediately you've got a qaulity Bass that is the perfect step up from a begginers to an intermidate bass. Its put together extremely well with the abillity to make adjustments to the pickups, saddles, bridge e.c.t. with ease! Another major pluss on the construction side is the use of individual bridges, not only does this look great, but the practical side means that there is hardly any unwanted vibrations caused to the strings (e.g. you can play an open E on the 4th string without it causing unwanted vibrations to the other strings)

I was lucky enough to get the bass for a bargain price, but i would be more then willing to pay the retail price as the bass is well worth the money!!!

I got it from Academy of Sound in Leeds. Cost me £250 (shoulda been £430 but it was in a sale!!!)

Its a great active bass with a fantastic range of sounds achievable once you've got used to the controls. You can go from thick, heavy muddy tones to trebly funkness really easily. People have been saying about it having weak pickups and i can see where they're coming from but ive had no problems. Build quality is solid, its taken a few hits an isnt showin any signs. It stays in tune for ages too (probly cos of the monorail bridge).

Can be a bit over trebly sometimes and thres a fair bit o fret buzz round the 15-17 on all strings but i guess if you knew what you were doin you could sort that.…

Very very solid. I was well impressed.

A fantastic bass well worth buying by anyone up to sort of high intermediate/low end of pro.

I blought this from Daddies Junkie Music after trading in a squier p-bass for about $450. if i hadent traded the squier in, it would be about $520. I was also looking at the Fender Jazz Bass and Ibanez SRX700.

i like that the sound can have such a fat, full tone, but also has a crisp treble. this makes it better for a ton of genres of music. it can put out a powerful punchy tone needed for rock, a full fat tone for walking jazz lines, and just about any other type of sound you want. also, i like overall appearance of the bass. looks dont really matter compared to sound, but this is a very nice looking bass in my opinion. the individual-stringed bridge is in accuality easier to string than …

the only thing that i would change is the action. it came extremely low for my preferences and had too much fret buzz. however, a quick adjustment can make that go away. also, the strings that came with it were horrible, but again, a quick change fixes that. oh yeah, the cutout at the bottom of the neck makes it a little difficult to slap and pop, but not too bad.

the active EQ and nice pickups are produce a very nice sound. although it isnt as light as the soundgear series, it is perfectly balanced so that it is not a burden on my shoulders. i heard that it gets damaged easily, but i have had no problems.

if i had to choose again, i would still pick this bass. although not as good as some basses like the musicman stingray, it is perfect for its reasonable price. i think it is the bes bass you can get for the price range.

I bought this guitar at Rock city and payed about 500 for it. It was well worth it.

The thing I liked most about it is the price because the other ones in the BTB line are about 1200 dollars, but because this one is red the price drops. I especially like the bridge because it allows smooth playing without vibration from the other strings. Plus all the tone options allow you to play any type of music.

The only thing that could be a flaw to some people is the pickups. They are a little weak.

The quality of the guitar is very good. It can take a lot of abuse and stays in tune for a long time.

    Awesome Guitar!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I work half-time at a guitar shop, so I didn't actually purchase the BTB400. It runs about $500 however, and is a good deal for 4 string bassist.

Like all Ibanez basses the BTB was very comfortable and had a nice low fat tone to it. I played it on about 6 small amps and a few larger stacks and it maintained it's tone quite well. It's a pretty nice one too, quilted maple top over basswood, big frets, boosted active electronics, and a tall thin neck. The construction is good, and the DFRN4 neck pickups give it a thick spooky tone...the VM38 bridge pickups can't cut it against a seven string guitar though, it basicly dissappears unless your combo setup is fix for penetration. I had no rattle on this baby at all though and it worked well with the lastes Ibanez PD7 and other effects even at high volumes.

I'll always hate Ibanez factory strings, and I hate that they even put them one their instruments. It's not as glamourous in appearance as the soundgear line, and I had a bit of trouble the fact that the body was so easy to get damaged. Also for about $80 more you could get a SR800 which is also a active bass and sounds better.

Quilted maple top and basswood back, large 24 large frets, 3 piece extra long neck, 18v electronics active bass, independant bridge saddles, DFRN4 pickup at the neck, VM3B at the bridge.

For it's price the BTB400 is a worthwhile investment. Despite minor flaws on the part of Ibanez, the end result is a good bass, though in my opinion it should only be used as a jazz bass. The throat (finger and neck) are easy to play and it did stay in tune for hours, which adds points.

Ibanez BTB SERIES manufactured by Indonsie
23 frets first two strings, 24 for the last two mountains with pickups and Ibanez original elixir strings (foot)
The bridge is special because they are four bridges monotonous.
The adjustments are very complete, since there are 5 knobs (actually six, since the closest bridge is actually two knobs nested one inside the other). Volume, bass boost (AC sends infrabass ca !) tonalitselecteur micro, medium and severe acute mediums, etc ... Anyway the electronic balance
the neck is rather thin and wide and allows a lot of things (eg slap with a space between the strings of 19mm)

I put 9 because the ibanez pickups are good but a little too froid.j opting instead for the Barto (BTB series available in more expensive)

    UTILIZATION

The handle is very pleasant if only one gets used.
CHAC is the acute niquel, ergonomics is very good too (it's not a BC Rich). It is not too heavy and the balance is good.
This gives a good sound is fairly easy from the moment we can handle the equalizer. The sound is still very cold (too cold at times) so preferred to modern music, although it is very well demmerde for all styles (see electronics in the ass it is a minimum)

    SOUNDS

It is well suited to my style of zik since I play a lot of modern music quite ennervMudvayne for example) but it's true that I wish the sound is warmer and a little plus.je grooove ca n uses it has no effect other than the chorus on my amp install (a crate bx160). my settings give me every possible sound (the sound infrabass up XD) but as you can imagine with always a certain coldness which is annoying in the long run.
I like the metal that I can play with and almost all what she comes out but I do not like the sound too when I play certain cryogenic clear as the song solo stuat hamm (very experienced) and stuff pretty groovy.
    otherwise the harmonic sound great.

    OVERALL OPINION

I have since the beginning mai2006.ce I love most: the equalization infinite, the mug, the gap between the strings and also found that my dear lovely (lol the criterion). I just wish the sound too cold.
before buying it I was playing on a storm (and yes it hurts) and ca m avraiment makes changement.j 'have a test imitation stingray PLO PLO and I hsit.La I did not level finish and how I wanted a bass that Tiennet road j tomber.si I could let him buy a SR500 but I can not afford (not glop). the ratio quality price is right for bon.disons 100 euros more expensive I would buy sr wood with excellent micro Barto and weighing less than 3 kg so good price quality ratio is better ....... are a lot worse (if it says ). exprerience I would do with that choice unless silent my budget of 150 euros more expensive
