All user reviews for the Kramer Voyager Headless Bass

Bass produced in Kramer workshops, Neptune, NJ, USA.
Shape "Star", unusual for a bass (but not in the "Eighties")
Aluminum neck, key ebonol (not out).
Super-Short Scale: 30.75 inches of scale, but still 24 frets.
Single Schaller pickup, bridge position, with a 3-modes selector: Humbucker / Precision / Jazz.
One volume, one tone.

UTILIZATION

The handle was surprising for several reasons:
- Super short but double octave, which makes the last frets fast but very small, somewhat in the manner of 'shred' guitars.
- Aluminum neck, which vibrates the whole bass in an incredible  way

The shape is balanced (thank you headless), the only gene found in the traditional mechanics, deported on the lower body, which easily go awry.

SOUNDS

With a face like that, the sound had to be very kind, and it is. This is Heavy Metal! Anything goes, provided to choose the right position for pickup selector.

Apart from these paths, nothing is guaranteed, given the intrinsic characteristics of the beast.

Anyway, it is not too bad tuning BEAD with strings yet standards (45-105), which will be comfortable with a draft 50-110.

A global maintenance is planned (slagging deep cavities and shielding, replacing the selector, the knobs, and the microphone jack), the fine having lived 30 years not without difficulty. It will probably remove its ground concern, and almost uselessness of tone knob.

OVERALL OPINION

It has become my preferred bass, even if I do not deny my first love. It is also a favorite, given the unnamed mess it was with customs ... but at this price, even in U.S. imports, it's worth it.
