Hatsubai's review"Subpar bass"

LTD F-104
The ESP LTD F-104 is a bass made for those who cannot afford the higher level LTD or ESP basses. The guitar is really marketed towards those who are just starting out and are into the whole nu-metal/visual kei kinda thing. The bass features a basswood body with a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fretboard, 24 extra jumbo frets, a hardtail bridge, ESP SB-4 pickups and the ESP ABQ-2 2-Band Active EQ.

The frets on this model are really bad. There are sharp edges that really slice your hand up. They definitely need to be filed down to truly enjoy this instrument. The actual leveling of the frets wasn't too bad, but that could just be because I like higher action on bass than I do on guitar. The neck itself felt kinda bad though. I don't know if it was the finish or what, but it just didn't feel like a normal LTD finish usually does. It could have been one of those "off" guitars.

I should start off by saying that I'm more of a guitarist than a bassist, so keep that in mind. The pickups in this thing sounded overly muddy for anything worthwhile. When played clean, they sounded dull and lacked the spank that I like basses to have for metal music. After all, this guitar is geared towards metal music. The active EQ didn't seem to help too much when it came towards dialing in a good tone. When distorted, it wasn't too bad, but I couldn't help but think that the basswood is holding it back. I like high quality basswood in guitars, but for basses, I prefer something like ash or alder.

If you're looking for a cheap, beginner bass and you have some sort of bizarre image to uphold, you might want to consider this instrument. However, there are so many better basses out there for the money, so I can't really recommend this. Try to find a higher quality LTD and buy used. That way you can get all the benefits of the higher quality guitar without the price tag.

Frabrique in Indonesia is inspects the USA, it has 24 frets, bridge and mechanique LTD, LTD Micro, tuning VOLUME, BALANCE, BASS BOOST TREBLE

The handle is really very pleasant
yes access to all the notes are very easy
yes ergonomics is very good, the weight? for me it's going and after some bass there heavier
yes it is easy to get a good sound is the equalizer is active
the only complaint I can make it is the quality of the microphones, it picks up cohoneries ds that does not touch the bottom to mass, but for the price should come as no pleindre if not luterie is really perfect (for this price)

Yes it is perfect for my style of music and even better when should I put EMG 35DC, I make the gothic metal so that's why this choice
I play with a Behringer amp 120watts ultrabass
I have a very sound rather serious and very fat round
I have no preference

I use it for two months around
I like to look and are active are equal
yes I tried other models but it is on this that I craqubr /> the quali money is really excellent
yes I would do without hesitation that choice

The handle is very pleasant, easy access to acute, despite a low rather heavy and tends to pitch down.
The sound is very good for the last two strings, but the highs do not come out very well (there must be a setting to do)
The bass has a great look and personalized it a hit A LOT!

My style of music is metal and the sound of this bass is perfect there, its a very fat (I have a Laney amp HCMB30) and is very powerful

This will be one month that I use this bass, and I have enough perspective to
give an objective opinion: This is a very good bass for its price
Its main default are its weight and its highs that do not show always on top.
With experience, I remake this choice

The handle really really well, no adjustment after cons!
ergonomics, the form ai j tjrs is a box, including pa big world who dares to play on it, yet ... next weight of the beast, I can not find it more than my Loude Spector ...
his side, do not waste vueque c is low is less than 400 eur, still I tried ibanez j, Traben, Cort (evl) up to 600 eur concurence s can not leave large words, it has the c wash everything.
for sound, I have still meet some prb in the studio, big difference in sound level between the E string and the others.

I play mostly metal, and ESP (LTD) is known
I play on HARTKE 500W + body that goes well with a 400W, and indeed the ME 50B.

J 2 years with him playing, this was my first bass: repeated, concert, studio, play super aggressive shock, it is the tjrs.
well the knob are loose, otherwise c is for the rest of the costo
the tuning in so-mi-la-re frieze a little past the walkthrough and it goes nickel
value for money nothing to say, naked ibanez, squier or other with such a sin I ask rebop now plays Spector (n ds is not the same price range) but my F104 will continue to follow me, I redo a youth, and a personal painting kit micro EMG, it will very soon taf his low back for many more concert
and of course that with the resources so I arranged al time I remake this choice
