Made in the USA in the Rickenbacker factory in Santa Ana, Solid body solid maple and the fingerboard is rosewood, 20 frets, neck-through (long scale), a selector 3 positions, 2 single coil pickups (Top Toaster, Horseshoe), two volume settings, two tone settings: INLAYS: point, Weight: 4.5 Kg
UTILIZATION
The handle is nice because it is late and thus offers speed. 5 seconds after unpacking, I installed Flatwound strings because I do not play with dishes nets (Rotosound RS 77LD: string has already been proven before). Access to treble is very easy but this is due to the shape of the bass. The bass is very well balanced, the handle does not fall unlike other low or when the handle is released, it knocks down. I did not repeat or used in concert since I have only been 15 hours. But 15 hours during which I took my foot as standing than sitting. Some remove the cover micro, I left him because he can put his hand well. I play mostly with a pick, very few fingers. Actually, I do not know how to do it if I played with fingers. Slappeur refrain, this bass is clearly not made for that.
SOUNDS
It is perfect for my style of game that is Pop / Rock and specifically British. The first song I played on my guitar called While Gently Weeps The Beatles. Incredibly, through my amp head Ashdown Evo II 300 with the baffle Ashdown ABM 115 that goes well, I have the same sound that Paul McCartney (that's what I was looking at the same time). Position we find the grave of his Taxman Revolver, medium position was sound a little more happening everywhere found on most of the songs of the Beatles (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Getting Better) and acute position was a nasal sound which is both the renowned Rickenbacker (Baby you're a richman, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I do not love all the sounds of this bass but I prefer to position the medium that is typed but most happening everywhere. In any case if there is something I love with this particular rickenbacker is that we have not the noise a little metal that the 4003, no, the sound is warm, round and so powerful (a lot of attack).
Note that I always use the knobs at the bottom.
OVERALL OPINION
This is my first day with her but what a foot. I have never enjoyed an instrument and I think my girlfriend will have to make room for him in our bed now because I decided not to leave! The subject is rare and almost impossible to find in store, I knew the sounds of the instruments as it's been 15 years since I heard through the songs of the Beatles or Wings. I bought it via eBay in a shop for vintage instruments, which is located in the state of Illinois I was afraid that it was in color because some are too fireglo Rick in pink or orange for my taste, is perfect it is beautiful it is that which was photographed on eBay. What I like is its sound, unique and of course the inimitable style that is recognizable among thousands. I think when I play live I'll make jealous among bassists. Investment is therefore € 2500, everyone can not afford it clear (the first time that I spend as much for a guitar). But the investment is worth the cost because I am now certain that I would keep the rest of my life. Obviously I would definitely do it again the choice !!!!!
